Coming off last weekend's race where Wilky was arguably the most competitive he's been all season (and last season for that matter) despite a 2nd round loss, they seem to have finally found something that works for them. They strung together a number of strong competitive runs last week and it's nice too see them getting the car down the track more often as opposed to one full pass out of four Q sessions and then smoking the tires in the first round on Sundays IF they managed to qualify as has been the case more often than not over this stretch. I can't imagine how they've been able to stick to it race after race over the past season and a half as disappointing and frustrating as their results have been. Their never give-up attitude and commitment in trying to figure out what the car likes with new parts, new rules and a budget that just doesn't allow them to test and aquire data like the big teams is extremely admirable and makes it easy to cheer for a team like that.

What's great to see is that Wilk's two qualifying passes today (Friday) seem to have built on last week and indicate that they have for sure stumbled upon something in their set up

It looks like they had a solid baseline run in Q1 and then went out and ran a .77 in round 2 along with the 3rd fastest speed in the 2nd session behind only the weekly top speed demons, Beckman and Ashley.

What's amazing is that if they can put together a good strong streak here leading up to Indy it could put Wilk in the Chase for the Top 8. He's less than 100 points out as of right now (with Force hot on his heels).

Again, I don't know what Team Wilk has figured out (Mark Benson or T. Smith...have any insight?) but hopefully it continues and they give these mega-teams a run for their money and get a chance to fight for a spot in the Top 8.

With Force's troubles and no clear cut run away car this year, it has opened the door to the lower budget independents such as Wilk and Head, giving them a decent shot at making the Top 8 if they can finish strong.

It's been tough to watch the home division guy struggle the past couple of years, but like you said, it looks like they may be getting things turned around. Let's just hope they're in it @ Indy.

Drew, Tim and guys have realy been working on there program, but the big thing is I think they finally got some good blowers, along with getting his clutch program where it needs to be, I see these guys work day in and day out at the shop, they relly want to win for all there supporters and especially Mr. Dick Levi, Tim's biggest fan. Getting to the interview thing, Tim is his own tuner so he does not have the tiem to hang out at the top end for interview, he actually drives the tow vehicle back to pits, so unless he wins the race, not likely to see him on tv interview, which hopefully will be this weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!
