THE NEW ENGLAND MARKET CONTINUES TO BE A HOTBED OF BANTER !!!
Does anyone know what their plans are for New England. Maybe something in partnership with Mohegan Sun Casino. They have enough land and ca$h.

Now there is a real idea I could support, how long has it been since CT Dragway closed?

[quote=Tom Posthuma;69978]Wow, what a lot of disinformation here.
First you do NOT need a passport to get across the border by land, only when arriving by air and that is thanks to Dubya and nothing to do with Canada.
/QUOTE]
This year you need a passport by air, next year you will need if be ground as well

I doubt that could ever happen! Some teams were forced to empty out their entire Rigs! Car, Tools, Spare you name it! I bet those racers will never go back!

Re: Schedule Expansion
Champ Car runs in Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, plus Mexico City (heck, plus Belgium, Holland, Australia, China ... but that's beside the point!).
NASCAR Busch also Mexico City.
Fewer teams and haulers making the journey, obviously, but how do they get on?

Re: Schedule Expansion
Hey Ian:
CT International Raceway closed after the 1986 Season. We've been waiting too long.

Re: Schedule Expansion
new england and calgary seem like good expansion locations.
if pro nhra is looking at expanding possibly up to 5 races.......
that's a tough call; do you bring 5 new tracks to the mix, or
double up existing venues within large population areas?
if you increase the marketing budget and talent, you'll draw more
for a period of time, but eventually that non-drag racing fan
who was enticed to attend for a few years will eventually go
elsewhere for entertainment. I'm convinced this is slowly happening
to nascar.
i'd make sure all the existing 23 races are generating maximum
cash flow and giving maximum sponsor exposure before expanding
the series too much.

Re: Schedule Expansion
Perhaps they meant England, rather than New England?
In Europe, 6.8's at 200+mph are common in FIA Pro Stock, and they have to run on unleaded. Perhaps it is time NHRA 'got with the program' and accepted the engineering challenges of unleaded?
Given the 'Global' market place into which many US companies are now exporting, NHRA must surely look beyond its conventional borders, towards the UK, Europe and Australia?

Re: Schedule Expansion
I wonder if the Baher's who own NHIS would be interested in a drag strip?
