I'm with you David....as the good book says ," This too shall pass." But you know....its going to take awhile for a lot of us.....We will never forget Eric nor those who have gone before him.... Blake , Darrell ......the others who gave of themselves to do what they loved ..

Yes, that part really got me going again. All of the coverage was very touching and sad. I'm sure those of us who weren't able to be there all appreciate the coverage, so we could still hear some of the tributes to a great man and to think of our own.

Re: Funeral..

Ya, I'm not one to cry in front of people, and I've done pretty good at keeping my emotions to myself with this tragedy. But when I read this on NHRA.com yesterday, I couldn't keep the tears from flowing. You just wish you could do some little something to help lessen the pain for the Medlens and JFR and all those who were close to Eric.

Re: Funeral..

I pretty much echo what Shan just said. Everyday I think I`m feeling a little better, and everyday I read something on Eric that just makes me feel like s&*t all over again. I can honestly say I`m glad I don`t go to the Houston race, `cause I don`t think I`d want to be there this weekend. Hopefully, I`ll feel better about going to Vegas in two weeks.

Re: Funeral..

Yes David thank you for posting that link.

That really made my eyes mist up & my heart thump. Man this is hard, so hard. But it is comforting to know that Eric is so loved by so, so many, how could anyone possibly not love him!

He's in a better place right now & he'll have that wonderful big smile on his face when we see him again.

This will probably hit me like 3 ton of bricks again at the Vegas race.

Re: Funeral..

I have not read all of the threads and posts re Eric's funeral but I did notice one glaring ommission from Rob Geiger's story on the NHRA site. Eric was buried in Cleremont, just down the road from the drag strip and as the funeral cortege wended its way from Brownsburg on 136 it made a slight detour and took Eric for one final pass down the Indianapolis Raceway Park quarter mile.
I did not go to the cemetary following the service at the church and am still not sure if I would have been able to handle the emotion of the moment at IRP. It was hard enough getting through Tuesday evening and the following morning at the church.
