Track problems
On competing website, Competition Plus a March 23 question and answer piece with Don Shumacher ran ( you have to look for it under the news section). After watching the first three races this year I feel his comments cpncerning track preparation and maintaining the GROOVE is right on. Granted , his other comments concerning cars getting out of shape on account of dropped cylinders is valid also. Hard rain at all before and during all 3 races also contributed to the tracks condition. How to aleviate these conditions is the question that has to be answered by everyone who is involved in our sport to make sure we go forward in the future. Too many races have been decided by a 1 lane race track and does nothing for the TV show and spectators attending the event, let alone the wellbeing of the drivers!
