Lucky -vs- good?
Jirka Kaplan won his first ever national event trophy this last weekend. He has been #1 qualifier many times in his bb/am, but now has an national Wally.
But why the title? Because he never raced his car one round to get the win. First round- red light competitor Second round- red light competitor Third round- bye fourth and final- red light competitor. Never ran the car out the back door in eliminations. Never ran better than .10 under. Congrats to Jirka and the team. You have paid your dues, and the force was with you this weekend. You have to be there to get the breaks. |

This makes up for all the times he's hit the index and didn't win. Of course when it's 100 degrees and your car is blown on alcohol, a lot of your opponents are gonna take a chance at the tree because that is about the only chance they have of beating you. good going Jirka and team. |
