Goodyear Tires Photo

Just something that caught my eye tonite cruising the message boards - in the news section of competition plus a photo along with the statement from Goodyear shows the tire on the right side of the car with the delaminated tread. This is contrary to all of the reports that I have read that it was the left tire that most likely caused / contributed to the the incident. Anyone catch this or am I mistaken?

Re: Goodyear Tires Photo

This picture from DRO would tell me it was the left tire. The video shows the left side of the wing goes first.

The crew must have the rear end upside down in the comp plus photo.

Jim
You are mistaken... The coupler that goes between the rear end and the reverser is on the lower portion of the "center section" of the rear end... The pic of the delaminated tire that is on the top of that pic IS the left tire...

Re: Goodyear Tires Photo

I believe this is the picture you are talking about. Yes, it does appear to be the right tire, however the other photos clearly show the rear end detached from the chassisl, so this one may have the rear upside down, or the photo reversed. This photo in on the Hillary thread about page 6.

Re: Goodyear Tires Photo

There is a better shot at DRO that shows it was the left tire.

That's the same photo we are all talking about. That part of the car broke away by itself, and it must have been set upside down when they brought it back to the pits.

Re: Goodyear Tires Photo

So that is what the whole problem was! Jim "O" was running the rear end backwards! A innovative approach with a costly outcome for sure.
