Donie - thanks for the update. Chassis does its job again. Rough weekend at LVMS - another great job by emergency personnel. They were there within seconds. Thank God Steve is relatively OK - Jim

Re: Steve Federlin Crashes In Vegas
Happy to hear he is okay... think every track should have the video set ups like Vegas. That is just one of the reasons LVMS is undoubtably the best in the west.

Donnie, I was there today and I must say you guys responded before the parts stopped moving. The LVMS crew is awsome!

Re: Steve Federline Crashes In Vegas
Well Joe, he announced to some at the banquet that he was quiting and that he was going to rent out the seat. I then talked to him a couple of weeks ago and he said he changed his mind and was going to race one more year full out before renting out the seat. He said becoming a crew chief is really appealing to him. Then, someone sent me an email saying that a new driver was going to take the seat after the Winternationals.
I'd say since he was quiting anyway that yes, that probably was it. But we shall wait and see as you never know what he will do. He's a survivor if there ever was one. Both Steve and Patty are great people and I wish them the best.
I was told that Hillary is going to make some runs today in a back up car.

Re: Steve Federline Crashes In Vegas
I watched the video several times and tried to stop it at key points of the run. I hate to say it but it looked to me like a wing failure. It just collapsed and then it went into the long spin. The tires seemed to be fine, at least at that point.
I'm real bummed about this(especially)considering what this man has had to endure the last few years with health issues. He is a great racer and was running some stellar numbers at these tests prior to this. I hope he will recover from this and get back out there.
If he (indeed) decides to become a crew chief he will be a great one. Good luck, Steve.

The truck at the top end was moving four seconds after the crash started and the ambulance was at the opening at the wall 22 seconds after the crash started. That is great work by the safety personnel.
