Back in the day, the garbage trucks were as pristine as the race cars.

Really sorry to hear this. Big John was one of my old time favorites. Loved his cars and the Gasser wars. God's speed John. RIP.

he was one of my favorites
always loved his cars

Here are a couple of shots from the CHRR 2005. Would love to see it tour the NHRA Nationals as a tribute to him. I really love this car. RIP John.

very sad to hear the passing of big john. sadly we lost another great from the greatest days in drag racing. i loved his candy red willys. godspeed big john
