I`m still laughing my ass off at Force, when he said in that roundtable talk with Shelly, Coil and AJ that he heard a rumor P/S and the bikes were going to run against them, and that he wanted to see a FC go by Angelle..."they`d blow her into the stands." God, I remember watching this in `99, like it was yesterday. I don`t think a lot of the racers or crew chiefs liked the concept of FCs vs. T/F much...LaHaie sure didn`t!

Too many lawsuits from us short funny car drivers having to over-stretch our necks to look straight up at him....did you notice the full head of hair?? Now was that the real ha....ooops I'll just shut up now!

My grandson got a real kick seeing Shelly Anderson on today's program. After getting custody of my three grandchildren in 1999, I took my grandson to his first race that summer when the NHRA Northwest Nationals rolled into town. He was about six years old at the time and was in awe of all the sights and sounds at the track. At one point I had bought him one of those long Red Vines and as we were walking along the midway Anderson came up to him, tapped him on the shoulder and said, "Hey, little boy, do you know you're dragging your candy?" As he gathered in his Red Vine she asked him if he was enjoying the race and having fun. He of course answered in the affirmative and told her it was his first race. She then gave him an event pin to remember the race, which he still has. As we headed back to our seats I told him who it was that he had just talked with and he was thrilled. Now in his early teens, when he saw Anderson on television this morning he said, "Gee, Grandpa, I don't remember her being that pretty."
