I'm at work now with toothpicks holding my eyes open.
Hey there. It looks like you will be taking off Fri, Sat & Sun for the Vegas race. How am I supposed to look you up in the "cage" at the Cannery for the "free meal" you promised. Just joking. Maybe I'll see you at the track. Patty aka Redlight

lol.....there are pink t-shirts that say 'real men wear pink'. That's where the reference came from after the whole 'drag' part of Scelzi Says.

Ooh, that's right. Lord, I can't remember anything anymore. I've seen those shirts at Hot Topic, IIRC. Hmm.

Oh, I was wondering, people, about this Budweiser Shootout party thangjigger...how do I find out more info about it?

And my place to stay has disappeared, for the moment...damn, I do not want to stay in a hotel. The hospitality of friends isn't always the best thing to rely on. Sigh.

Time to investigate what hotels are near LVMS, just in case. Now, where's my credit card...

Hotels prices are going to be steep next weekend, it always is on race weekend. On such short notice, I`d try the Motel 6 on Tropicana or something like the Orleans or Stratosphere if you want to stay at a hotel with a casino. Good luck on availability. You`ll be spending $250+ a night for places like New York New York, MGM, Caesars, Ballys etc. etc. $300+ for Venetian, Bellagio, Mandalay.

I've stayed at the Boulder Station during a race weekend. Not very far from the track, decent rooms at decent prices, and a full-sized casino.

After doing a little checking, you're going to have a hard time finding a reasonably priced room at a hotel that isn't a total dump on this short of notice, unless you are willing to stay quite a long way from the track.

If your not preticular about your accomodations, you can find plenty of places to stay. Would I stay at some of these places? I would have to be pretty desperate!

Thanks, guys, for the suggestions. I have a rental car set up so being near the track wasn't important. Heck, I lived in Vegas 2 1/2 years and I don't even know where LVMS is...lol.

Luckily, another friend of ours has a three bedroom house and she lives there alone, so one of those extra rooms is ours. Phew! I really didn't want to stay in a hotel. I spent more than enough time on the strip when I lived in Vegas, I have no interest in staying in any of the resort properties.

Anyway, I am now good to go.

I will see y'all there. Damn, I can't wait.

Does anybody know which casino offers odds on the NHRA race? I remember hearing somewhere that you could bet on the race but don't remember if it was a specific casino or not?

Brian, as far as I know both the Palace and Boulder Station casino's still take bets on the Pro's.
