I guess I can see why Mr Knoll is frustrated in his P/S efforts because I am sure everyone else is. Why you ask? Please consider the following:
1] Evan has the best leaver in the class under contract and he is slated for third team next year at VC. Duuuuh! Why is Dave looking for a team every 18 months or so? A crew chief ? Engine builder ? etc.
2] Does winning anything matter at Dodge ? Theses people spend millions of $$ every year in order to look ridiculous. The DSR deal is one thing but that story never ends with these people. I fully expect Shaun Carlson to be the team owner next season. Meanwhile AJ just keeps plugging away and Morgan and crew are the definition of the term "field car".
3] Old guys like Gaines, Krisher and Naylor have a team. Why doesn't B.G.? Those guys can't win a gold fish at the fair but have some $$. Does anyone see that if you give Bob some sponsorship $$ and let him into the car you are going to go rounds and win some races? Maybe include his son{s} and you actually think his pit won't be jammed with fans and customers at every stop?
Am I crazy??
Or are they??
I hear the voices and they are saying to me " Team Summit will win forever", beacuse nobody else gets it do they??

I bet if Greg Stanfield had a bit more scratch, he would be able to really make life miserable for the KB team, instead of the way it is now; he merely makes life miserable for the KB team

Just a burr in the saddle blanket...Unfortunately.
He would be the man with the target on his back if he had funds I think.
Setting national records and a pretty good win record against G.A. isn't that easy to do when you don't have a big budget I wouldn't imagine.

A great example of what I am getting at. He is a great driver, good engine builder and is a nice guy. He is also all alone in terms of major support, left to survive the best he can with what he has.

Connelly and Stanfield
Hi all! I'm a first-time posting nitromater newbie! Just wanted to say that I love to see Connelly and Stanfield (and of course Jeg when he gets started again) and the other sportsman racers turned pros continue to win rounds on driving skill. Glad there's someone like Evan Knoll to make sure a quality driver like Dave Connelly has a ride. Also kind of exciting to be posting on a forum that is not only read but contributed to by a gentleman like Evan, to whom we all so much for his continuing support of drag racing. There, I'll shut up. Glad to be a mater!

Thanks for the welcome, David. Been following the mater for a while, thought it was time to pony up and jump in.

Hi, Jay! Nice to meet you.
I sometimes think about this: Connelly or Stanfield with Jason Line's horsepower and the GA/KB resources--hmmmm.

he has a steady first class ride-his own. Where more funds would help him is in the R&D on the engine.

The only person who wouldnt be touched in pro stock for many years would be Connelly driving a KB car. That would be about as unbeatable as you could get. Also, bummer Kevin, sorry to hear about your sponsor leaving.
