I've said it before, I'll say it again. The Boss at DSR made this change, and if anyone has an issue with it, take it up with him. He is an easy guy to contact and won't hide from a tough question.
Whit is a very good driver, very tough competitor, and I don't think he'll be out of a ride for long. And I'm sure he is at the top of the list to go where the Matco money is going. Sounds to me that this is more of a loss for DSR than it is for Whit.
As for those who don't know Jack, never met Jack, and have an opinion/comment based on little or no information about Jack. This dude has a crapload of experience driving. He is coming into this with more experience than some of his peers. He has been a staple in the SuperComp class, won the world champ while dealing with the onset of cancer (he was competitive while feeling like having the worst flu in the world). He has been a runner in Top Eliminator West, been quite successfull in CIFCA, has done well driving a blown alky front engine dragster in Goodguys A/Fuel class (has done well there too), driven several different top alcohol dragsters and has plenty of laps in them, has plenty of laps in top alcohol funny car (yeah, smacked the wall trying to peddle out of shake,, how many have done that?), got quite a few laps in top fuel last year, went a few rounds after being thrusted into that deal on short notice, and has a good number of laps in Jeff Gaynor's nostalgia nitro flopper (yeah, the one Ron Capps can be seen in). This guy comes in with plenty of experience, and nitro funny car is about the only thing left to round out his resume. Oh, and he jumped in and crossed the license with just a couple of runs. Some with more top fuel experence have taken more runs to do this,,, so I'd say that Jack is more than qualified to make this move. He will also be the first to say that he isn't going to set the world on fire as now is the time to just acclimate and get ready for next year.
Now, coming from Jack, this deal is another of those short notice situations, and wasn't being planned. It happened just as quickly as Matco saying they are moving elsewhere. Nobody likes the decision for Whit, and I'll say that too. But you can't blame Jack for this change, yet you also can't blame Jack for taking the opportunity when it was presented.
For me, I'd like to see Whit move over to David Powers camp. Seeing Whit and Lee Beard back on the same team would be good; both guys seem to be cut from the same cloth. Something like that would be good for the sport, and the participants.

Dont worry, all you have to do is go outside act like you just lost and kick the side of your car, then drive to your work and get punched by a fellow employee, and then as long as you throw in something derogitory about Force, its just like being at the track with him. Oh, and then try and clip someone on your way home.

Hey Justin...
Sounds like my typical day.... does this mean I'm really Whit? And don't call me a Whit lover... I use Start-up as an aftershave.

I was just trying to bring a little humor to this otherwise boring racing day. Whit's ok, and I hope he has a ride next year, it just wont be the same only having WJ to root against!

Just Teasing Justin
I know Justin... just been a ***ty at work, now I get to go to job 2... and the boss is pissed at me because I'm going to Petersburg in a couple of weeks for the race, and I've got to put up with that stupid Rock-n-bowl Cr** all night, and the rain finally moved out of here about two hours ago, heading north, and TF and PS and FC and PSB starting line-up is probiblely going to be determained on points at Reading, and it su*ks to be me today and not only that...
What the heck are we talking about anyways????
Oh yeah, It ain't Jack's fault... Just Business.... and I wish that JFR could have put Whit in a car... But with the rain and all, maybe Whit could Qualify with his Bike...

That would make sense especially since they will only have 2 shots to get down the track. Whit's experience would certainly be a plus in this situation. In Whit's blog he said he was flying back to Indy on Friday morning. I wonder if he flew back to Philly this morning?? I guess we'll see in a few hours if the rain stops.

If it rains out today and the weather breaks enough to race tomorrow....will they? Do they go totally based on points? If so, Whit's services would be in BIG demand
