Re: Ed K wins on a Harley.
One of the worst "dives" ever. If NHRA warned teams about this then they should step up. Then again sometimes I live in a dream world.

The race with andrew and eddie was an insult in my opinion.

Re: Ed K wins on a Harley.
I got no problem with dives, but that one was ridiculous. Just dont make the pass Andrew. That looked horribly bad. Thats one problem with this crapdown, its going to entice alot of dives at the last few races.

Re: Ed K wins on a Harley.
Did any of you griping about the outcome of the Krawiec/Hines matchup really expect anything different? Team mates, one who is guaranteed the championship with a win, racing each other in the semi's. If you really thought there would be a different result I have some ocean front property in Arizona I would like to sell you. Treble/Ellis, Smith/McBride would have had the same result. Like Mike Dunn said, it looked like Drew did a bad job of red lighting and then had to figure out how to give it back to Eddie. If you look at the 5 races the bikes competed at during the countdown, Eddie has 4 runnerups and a semi final. He qualified 3rd, 1st, 7th, 2nd and 2nd during that same stretch. That would be hard to beat. Congrats to Eddie and the Vance & Hines team for their Championship.

Yep, he was consistent all right. Never made it past the semis and went past the first round just 4 times before the countdown. A true champion.

Thanks Gary, my bad. Still though, he didn't make it into a final round before the countdown.

You're welcome and I agree, if not for the countdown format, he wouldn't have the championship. But, it is what it is, and we have to live with it for now.

He was consistent over 6 races.
THis countdown was done to draw new fans right. How does it look to have a guy be crowned as the champion when he can't even win a race???
I don't mean to knock Eddie personally, he won by the rules in place. My complaint is that the rules are horrible

I agree.... How do you think Wilkerson feels.. he would have had it won at the last race.. did GREAT all yr a 1 car team.. low $$ and was killing everyone.. then in the "Countdown" 1 bad run (Red vs Force) and his whole season id down the tubes
Wilkerson should be FC Champ... NOT Pedegron..

even more ironic in that we were told the countdown was going to help the smaller budget teams.

Re: Ed K wins on a Harley.
This is not meant to insult Eddie as a person. I have never met him but he does seem like a nice guy. I have nothing against him personally. However, I am reminded of a quote from a multi-time NHRA World Champion. When NHRA announced the Countdown, this Champion said something like, "This Countdown format will allow some leaker to win the title". Again, I have nothing against Eddie but based on his round record; well if the shoe fits.

Re: Ed K wins on a Harley.
I am extremely excited for Eddie and his 2008 Championship. At the end of the day he had more points than any other rider through the countdown; in turn making him the champion. Given the format Eddie deserves the Championship.

Re: Ed K wins on a Harley.
Firs and foremost, I am a Matt Smith fan all the way. BUT... ANY OTHER TEAM ON THE TOUR WOULD HAVE DONE WHAT V&H DID!
To do anything other than that and cost your team the championship would be idiotic!
