Re: Unsung Hero

Good article indeed. He is very much involved. I think it is one of the keys to the Army team's success. AJ being able to take that info and apply. I'd be surprised if he doesn't have someone doing the same (or try to hire Lanny) for his team next year.

Do you not think he's a help Tony?

I just think at times that stuff is overrated.

There are teams that run pretty good without someone sniffin', lickin' and dry humpin' the racetrack.

Re: Unsung Hero

Lanny does put in a "LOT OF EFFORT" in his job, is very good at reading the track and i would never blast anyone who is as passionate as he is in his job. However....... that being said...... Tasting the track???

Either way... the two hottest cars in the Top Fuel and Funny Car ranks are:

TONY SCHU and FAST JACK....

and last time I checked.... owned by................................................ ..

This guy with the Wally in his hand....

Good work Lanny....Keep it going for 5 more races!

Re: Unsung Hero

Lanny knows his stuff big time. I worked w/ him and Tim Grose 86 and Lanny was the reason behind Tim winning the 86 Winternats. If there was only one person on this planet every clutch guy had to ask for advice 90% would pick Lanny...

Agreed, I don't think it was a coincidence that the DSR cars were picking the right lane yesterday before everybody else.

Re: Unsung Hero

I hope someone noted what ruined the left lane.
I think I heard scraping and the rubber was not sticking right.
Must have exposed something like oil with the sun out after scraping .
Both sides should get equil treatment.
I hate one lane races.
Give the Force team credit for moving towards the center.

And kudos to Joe Amato for saying he would have been there to witness his record broken except he is hosting a fund raiser for the RNC with Laura Bush next Thursday.
There I interjected politics again.
Ouch I spanked myself with a steel ruler used to check heads!
Consider me properly chastised !
Some one else will have to chastise Joe he has always been a favorite of mine.

That's funny!

I agree - there may be some of it that is overkill...and there are some that run pretty good. But there is only one that runs the best.

Re: Unsung Hero

After the scraping Guido and Ashley ran in that lane after so many smoked 'em. A 4.10 in the heat was very impressive. Too bad it didn't have the right result. I think that was the car to beat had she cut a good light there.
