Re: Cant watch from the fence?
If they enforce this at Gainville it should be interesting. It is literally 4-5 deep at G-ville every year on the pit side.

Re: Cant watch from the fence?
There HAS to be something said for TRADITION. Most of my childhood was spent clutching onto a chain-link fence while the adults stood there watching the race.
I would rather do the fence thing than the "sit in the stands" thing at most tracks. Everytime I have had seats for a race, I ended up standing up the entire time, because once some jackass stands up, everybody has to...
LVMS is one exception: The stands are angled relative to the track, so you can sit in your seat and see the entire 1320 and shut-down area.

Re: Cant watch from the fence?
They had some hard ass jerks trying to keep people off the fences yesterday and the day before but it didn' last. Today the fences were full of fence birds everywhere, Hey, that's the way it is supposed to be, right??
I love it, raced for 40+++ years and I am finally at INDY. BK

Re: Cant watch from the fence?
If they did keep people off the fence the only good thing about it would be NOT HEARING PAUL PAGE talk about it!!!!!! (What a crowd they are 3 or more back the place is packed blah blah blah)

Oh that's a good one Timmah! John Rogers "sleeping in" at Indy! Man, he'd sleep at the track under the bleachers if they'd let him!

Damn John, you get to the track early. I just woke up in my ice box of a hotel room. I am heading over in 30 minutes.

That is exacting what I was thinking when I read this. I don't think it will be possible to enforce it at Gaineville unless they get ALOT of security. Or put up some kind of barrier. It seems more people stand at the fence than sitting in the stands there!!!!

Re: Cant watch from the fence?
I was there yesterday in my front row reserved seats....and they were making anyone that stopped at the fence move on ! People were allowed to stand at the fence on the GA side. The 1000 ft deal does not sit well with me...but it was still a great day of snorting nitrofumes !

Re: Cant watch from the fence?
Right now as I look across the track, there are no fence standers on the west side. There are a few here on the east side...
