High emotions???, I call it lack of self control. Shes a multi- time world champ, learn to handle adversity already.
How many times have we been down this road with her? You wont see Karen S. or Melanie wailing and carrying on like that.
And yeah Dave I`ve made many passes down a 1/4 mile in the last 20 years , so I meet the requirement to call it as I see it (you call it bashing).
Hmmm. How many National Event finals have you been in?

I'll take a composed driver/rider over an emotional one every time. Win with class, lose with dignity - no matter by what means either happened.

The camera's sought Angelle out. She went off to the side to have her moment. That is not her fault that the camera's were on her. By her showing her emotion it just proves how passionate she is for the sport.

Hey Steve,

I bet if I kicked you in the "ding-ding" that you would cry!!!

Why's it have to be women you use as example?????

WJ, Line, Cory, Whit, Tony S....the list goes on with guys that have blown a nut.

If I ever win a wally you better not watch I'd be a blubbering stammering mass up there

Just exactly what is a "ding dong?" I know Dolly Madison or Hostess used to sell a version of them.

Re: The most beautiful woman in the world screaming in frustration

Nope, your right Steve and Russ... Don't ever show emotions in public... After all, what will people think... how will it reflect on US... Believe me when I say what she showed was tame compared with what was coming out of my mouth during the audiocast, and that's coming from a Matt Smith Fan...

No more High Fives after winning... I mean Marty the One Man Party shows No Class... And how DARE WJ grin when his son won, or say I don't care about that Countdown $hit on camera...

Now is the real problem here that she's female? Or is your problem "Big Boys Don't Cry or Show Emotion"? Guess What? Real Men do cry in frustration, loss, and say things alot worse than Start M/F...

Just thinking about it makes me cry.

I have this picture in my mind about pro stock bike racers leaning forward and going over bumps on a their bikes and whether or not one driver would have an advantage over the other with or without "ding-dings" in their pockets. I think I'll leave that one alone.

Angelle's team worked hard to get back on track. Losing the way she did in the final would make any grown person cry.

awesome post randy! still no answer either, i bet we can guess how many if someone shows a ton of emotion it shows how much they want it and how competitive he or she is. i have no problem with emotion after a huge win or loss, as long as it doesnt rub it in to your competitor. remeber how emotional micheal jordan was? crying with his 1st championship trophy. i wanted angelle to win so bad, especially for george bryce. the wins will come, thats a great team!

And No Suzie Q... I don't wanna even think about it...

Re: The most beautiful woman in the world screaming in frustration

Karl,

Your sarcasm was not lost on me. Because I am composed and without emotion it does not bother me.
There is a place for emotion, and certainly this sport generates alot of it.
As a driver, I do better when I keep my emotions in check. Come to think of it, when I speak I do better when I keep my emotions in check. Emotional displays are not an accurate barometer of competitiveness.

Re: The most beautiful woman in the world screaming in frustration

Russ,
The first paragraph was only partially sarcastic... for the most part, that was how a young male was taught in the fifties and sixties... Appearance is everything... don't dare show emotion, it's not manly.

Which is why I got involved with Drag Racing... none of the Jock BS...

I feel sorry for people that can't show emotion.

Besides wondering how many National Event finals he's been in, I was also curious if he has a car owner, sponsor, fans and the media to answer to after any one of his runs that gives him his self proclaimed "so I meet the requirement to call it as I see it" comment.
