THERE IS NO NITRO SHORTAGE....(comp plus.-Jim O, et al)
Tom & Graham do nothing out of the goodness of thier hearts.
(the pathetic purse icrease should be proof enough!)
Those *******s will try and milk this deal UNLESS public outcry is heard.
NHRA in the parts business not good...what next a crankshaft official supplier...then a shortage...then NHRA selling cranks etc....PLEASE!!!!

Will NHRA break the contract? My question is how the NHRA can get two containers from China and VP can't?

I thought that was covered last month, something about not paying the bills or something like that!

Kevin, is it possible you took two of the red ones this morning instead of three blue ones?

Re: NHRA Selling NITRO??????
I don't see VP throwing too much of a fit if they lose the Nitro supply end of the "Official Supplier" contract. If I remember right from what was posted earlier, didn't they get the contract to supply the main fuels to the NHRA and then get told by NHRA that they had to include Nitro also? It would probably be a relief to get out from under this problem for them. Not saying they are blameless for this mess, or that NHRA has a good idea, just trying to remember how they got involved in the Nitro supply end of it to start with.

Re: NHRA Selling NITRO??????
I don't believe it. NHRA is not an official nitro supplier, so they would have to fine themselves $100,000 if they brought a little as one drum into the track during a national event.

Sean, there is no disrespect intended whatsoever but do you really believe this is possible? Take it one step further and ask, if they don't sell it at reasonable prices what would it show?

No disrespect taken, Bobby. To answer your last question, I guess I think it would show no good will towards the racers. You ask if it's possible to sell it at a reasonable price to start with, and if the rumors going around about nitro being available from other sources for much less, then the answer, obviously, is yes, it's possible.
I guess the only point I was trying to make is that in times like this, where operating costs are obviously at a point of keeping teams on the sidelines, anything the sanctioning body can do to help the situation out should be done, period. And if one of those things is the ability of doing away with an "official supplier" of nitro and bringing that deal in-house and saving the racers a few hundred bucks per barrel, then they should suck it up and make it happen, because it's the least they can do.

Ding Ding Ding we have a winner.
How can there be a shortage if a rep for a previously approved supplier has 700 barrels?
When did WEGO get taken off the official supplier list, when they are, basically, the sole source for racing grade Nitromethane?
