I think that is way cool, as those of us who are fans of stockers say!

Re: Hight To Throw Out Pitch In Dodger Stadium
Well, something is a little screwy with this story. Quoting it:
"To Hight’s shock weeks later a postcard with a Pittsburgh postmark appeared in his mailbox. At first Hight thought it might be a standard form response but he pulled out his Dodger’s schedule and sure enough the Dodgers were on an extended East Coast road trip at the time the postcard was sent."
If you look at the postcard in the photo, you can clearly see a LOS ANGELES postmark dated Dec 30, 81. There are no MLB teams playing in or around Pittsburgh during the Christmas holidays. Hockey teams maybe, but not baseball.

Re: Hight To Throw Out Pitch In Dodger Stadium
Robert Hight being a Northern Californian and liking the Dodgers is Taboo up here!
Throwing out the first pitch for the Dodgers against our SF Giants is compounding it!
It’s all in good fun that was a cool story!
Bobby thanks for the opportunity and all your guidance shooting the event this past weekend. I’ve learned a lot and look forward to doing future events for you and team CompPlus.
I have a new appreciation for all the work you do and how busy it gets in the media tower covering these events.
It was cool to see all the owners and drivers who seem to know you and talk to you on such a personal and open level. I’m sure it has come from years of reporting, mutual respect and keeping the integrity at such a high level.

I am thinking something is just wrong with it all...surely he wouldn't fabricate that up out of thin air, knowing that the picture was coming under the scrutiny of the internet. Never the less...
1981 Dodgers Schedule.

Re: Hight To Throw Out Pitch In Dodger Stadium
Clarification from Robert Hight on Dodgers release and Dodgers postcard postmark....
After speaking with Robert Hight driver of the Auto Club Ford Mustang about the postcard image that was supplied with the press release earlier in the day Hight said that postcard is actually the second postcard he received from Tommy Lasorda hence the Los Angeles local and December postmark which differs from the story in the release.
Hight is eagerly looking forward to throwing out the first pitch tomorrow night and hopefully thanking Mr. Lasorda face-to-face for both postcards.

Re: Hight To Throw Out Pitch In Dodger Stadium
Great PR for JFK and NHRA.
It would be really neat if they could "Fire it up" in the stadium. That would wake up xx thousand attendees.
Meantime, did everyone notice Robert will be running a Dodgers themed car in Las Vegas and Pomona 2?
Shades of Mike Dunn, eh?

Oh no, not the right one! Maybe the eye teeth. Please not the right one! Besides, we'd have to stop calling you Kelly and start calling you Eileen.

HIGHT TO RACE DODGERS’ 50th BLUE AT FINAL TWO NHRA EVENTS
YORBA LINDA, CA (July 30, 2008) --- Professional Funny Car driver Robert Hight dreamed of playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers as a young boy growing up in Northern California. Tonight he will get to experience the thrill of Dodgers Stadium from the player’s perspective when he throws out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the Los Angeles Dodgers versus San Francisco Giants game.
Today it was also announced that Hight will race a commemorative Dodgers 50th anniversary paint scheme on his Auto Club of Southern California Ford Mustang at the final two NHRA events of the 2008 POWERade season, the 8th annual AC Delco NHRA Nationals in Las Vegas, October 30 – November 2, and the Automobile Club of Southern California Finals, November 13-16, in Pomona, California.
“To be able to throw out the first pitch is a baseball dream come true but to be able to honor the Dodgers’ 50th anniversary at two NHRA events with my race car is really beyond anything I ever dreamed possible. I want to thank my sponsors primarily, Automobile Club of Southern California, as well as our other team sponsors Castrol, Ford, Old Spice, Mac Tools, BrandSource, and Sanyo for agreeing to the changes on my Mustang,” said an excited Hight. “I plan on being the championship hunt at those last two races and it would be pretty special to see that Dodgers Auto Club Ford Mustang in the winner’s circle at the end of the season.”
The Dodgers Auto Club Ford Mustang will also be commemorated with a limited edition run of Motorsports Authentics die-cast collectibles. The replica Ford Mustangs will be the standard 1:24 scale and will be available for order by the end of the year though a variety of outlets including the John Force RaceStation.
