Re: WJ?

I have been a WJ fan since 1985, through thick and thin...mostly thin the past few years. I admire his doing it all himself, I run my race team like that, because I am the whole team, but I am a fan none the less. I just wish he would go back to a black car.
my .02 cents. Mark

Re: WJ?

1.) Hey guys long time no post... My two cents is that Greg's answer about the auto-start dates back to when I worked for Krisher and everyone and their momma was staging before we had even finished our burnout (qualifying and eliminations) trying to hurry Ron. We were told by an un-named official that if someone "double" bulbs before the other lane's pre-stage is on that Rick has the ability if he choices to, over ride the auto-start. That was back in '02 so I'm sure things have changed prior to Greg's deal.

2.) 7 seconds is plenty of time and Kurt seems to use every bit of it (he's my hero).

3.) WJ has not only earned the right to drive as long as he wants, he also OWNS the CAR and until someone comes up with a large stack of cash (yes I think he would sell for the right amount) its still HIS...

4.) Until you have done what he has done STOP! None of us have been half as successful at our jobs as the old man so we have no room to criticize.

5.) Hi Pat thought you were sailing!

Michael

edit: Also don't start about the rule book, if you read what is actually printed in the rule book there is a tremendous amount of gray area's that aren't ever encroached on.

I am working on that! Not the criticizing but the success. I have the utmost respect for WJ, KJ and their accomplishments. The level of commitment is beyond what most can appreciate until you try it.

Re: WJ?

You real Pro Stock racers are just ruining it for the keyboard crew chiefs who are sore about their guy losing to WJ for decades. They have a score to settle and your facts are getting in the way. Could you just lay off for a while?

Must be ESP, Doc. Your post is exactly what I was thinking.

I guess it makes for more dedicated fans, but I've never understood the need to rag on a racer who might not be your favorite.

There were a few people in the Pro Stock pits I didn't like, and others I had absolutely no use for. But considering the jobs they were doing in order to even be there I still respected them.

For quite a while now, racers have been able to integrate their video tapes into the Racepak program. Video runs at a standard frame rate, so the timing as shown by the computer is pretty accurate - probably moreso than Compulink since any recent computer has a higher clock rate than what the Compulink operating system is capable of.

Re: WJ?

According to the video from the other lane from the time Warren lit his first bulb until the time Johnny went in and lit his second bulb was about 3.3 seconds not immediately by any stretch of the imagination. From that time the tree came down about 6.25 seconds later. And for whatever it's worth it is pretty hard to lose .75 seconds from the video. So there you have it atleast one cameras perspective.
