That picture of him reminds me of Fozzy Bear from The Muppets.

Re: He said "Turbo Charger" AGAIN!!

You take one gaffe from an otherwise good article and start a thread about it?

No disrespect intended, Andy.

I think Paul is getting better and the article explains a little of the complicated procedure involved.

No disrespect taken, but c'mon... It is a very good article, I agree. But, really, this guy gets paid to tell the masses about this sport. It's a major oversight when you are the play by play man on national television talking about the premiere classes in NHRA Drag Racing. And this is the second time he's made this mistake in the last few weeks.

'Tuff crowd here.
Paul's a PRO and he's making progress.

PS: As I become more um, errr, mature I'm more inclined to give a fellow "seasoned citizen" a break.

BTW: How many time do you think McCain's age is going to be a smarmy little whisper of an issue in the Presidential compaign. (I actually heard somebody remark the "He walked like an old man". I guess he was absent that day) .

Paul's resume as a broadcaster deserves respect. I don't think I knew everything about the NHRA after one season. In fact, still learning. Any little mistake by Page is amplified 10X because it's on TV. He's doing great!!

Mr. Bullard, as usual I agree with you, but it took me a while to get to that point. I was willing to give Paul a break if he was showing improvement, but I truly wasn't seeing any in his early broadcasts. But the thing that bothered me the most was what came across as his lack of interest, almost disdain, for the racing he was covering--almost as if he felt drag racing was beneath him. I now realize I was wrong and it was all just being uncomfortable with the new gig. I do now see much improvement in the job he is doing and the familiarity he is developing with the sport. Although I would still prefer to have Marty back, Paul and Mike are developing a sort of chemistry that makes the broadcast more fun to watch. I think Paul is gonna be all right.

Re: He said "Turbo Charger" AGAIN!!

I've been rough on Paul and even I will admit he's improved. He still is not the best person to be the voice of nhra. Especially with several others sitting right there that would be much better. It's not like they need to go far to find an improvement. I've learned to just ignore him or when it gets too bad just fast foward.

You can call me Steve. At the end of the day I've always been one to say, "Did I see all the action?" 99% of the time I do and I'm happy with that.

Re: He said "Turbo Charger" AGAIN!!

i'll say this - i know most would love to have bob frey doing TV with
mike, but since big mac stepped aside, bob frey has become THE pro category
voice at nat. events and i wouldn't want to change that.

here's what some pro nitro team/s needs to do.
if they know a story or action for the TV show will be filmed in their pit,
someone on crew needs to make small sign attached in appropriate
location that says 'SUPERCHARGER'.

paul is doing fine.

Re: He said "Turbo Charger" AGAIN!!

People will always complain about something. The guy is a legend in motorsports broadcasting and I enjoy listening to him on the broadcasts.

I find it ironic that some of the same people that ***** and moan about a small goof from Page will probably vote for Obama who can't go a single week without making a major gaffe, like 57 states, or 10,000 people killed after a tornado (it was 12), or Habeas rights at Nuremberg, etc.
