thats what i was wondering too. it seems WJ/Cagnazzi has left greg and jason in the dust, but then again its only one race and at this point in the season points mean very little and they may be tryin' different things.

They may have learned something from the way that the Cagnazzi teams ended the season last year.

Re: What happened to the Summit juggernaut?

I've said it before and I'll say it again. All of the rules changes/clarifications thrown @ KB/Summit Racing, the shock clarification hurt the most. Up until this year, they made as much power as anybody, now,WJ and Cagnazzi with WJ getting the nod. Team KB/Summit use to never make a bad run, now, they are like everybody else, they miss the setup from time to time. They seem to do well when the track temps are cooler and when the temps go up,they can't throw everything @ it like they did before the shock clarification. This is only my opinion or uneducated guess, either way,it sure is fun again.

Maybe this goes beyond the shocks and "Yuill Brenner" front tires. Their MPH is down compared to WJ and VC motors.

Re: What happened to the Summit juggernaut?

well i look at it this way, the summit cars were the 1st to run with the drce3 motors, i just think the rest of the teams have caught up and learned new ways to get power to go by them for now. all of these teams work thier butts of to find new ways to make power and the 3 is ran by multiple teams like the johnsons and cagnazzis. this latest rule with the shaved tires being centered around the summit cars is crazy, the summit cars arent the fastest out there now. i just think other teams have caught up just like how bob glidden wasnt dominant anymore, lee shepard, w.j, the dodge boys ect ect it goes in cycles , thats what makes this sport exciting. oh and by the way we dont race on saturday either

You are not serious are you?WJ was the first to run the DRCE 3. GA even remarked how he thought WJ had done the wrong thing by going to the 3 so quick. KJ continued to run the 2 till WJ got the 3 up to speed. By the way,KJ just ran GA down like a dog in first round.

Looked like GA was bad pi$$ed about not being able to "true" the front tires. Not being able to "properly balance the new front tires" was priceless, that had him teed off big time.

i honestly thought they were guess im wrong but i stand behind my thoughs of it just being that the other competitors just have caught up with the power and the set-up, no one dominates forever.

That's ok,our memories are not as good as they once were. The reason I remember it so well was WJ had a hard time in the beginning running the 3. If my memory is correct, last year was the first year that GA ran the 3,WJ had run it for the previous year, year and a half. As far as the field catching up,I think it's a combination of that and the rules changes/clarification.

Re: What happened to the Summit juggernaut?

I think I'll save this thread for the end of the year.

Let's see who's at the end of it come Pomona2.

I'm rooting for KJ personally..but anyone who thinks that the Summit cars won't be playing a part of it all..well..it's easier to be a wiseass than to face reality.

Sorry, just don't buy the "everybody's just caught up" theory. We're talking Ken Black spending money, not Ken Koretsky.
