Classic Connie Kalitta story on nhra.com
Link over to the left in ND Dragster Insider; the infamous hijack story. A special treat for those who maybe never heard it; and for those who did - make no mistake, all these years later - he can still whip anybodys ass out there.

I'd rather not see that. The sight of a senior citizen with a major comb over in a fight is, well...not a pleasant sight.

I'm hoping it's those Michigan-raised legs that turn 'em on; of which I have a pair

From what I remember I thought he punched the guy in the plane and took the knife away just as the MSP guy got to the plane door.
I was still living in MI back then, and saw it on the TV news

Re: Classic Connie Kalitta story on nhra.com
I may be wrong; but I thought Scott's girlfriend (now wife) was involved; maybe being the actual one the end of the knife in thier ops. Not much room to scuffle in a Lear cabin, letalone the cockpit. And with C-Rad's size.... talk about close-quarters combat! And they still own that airplane, too. I'da like to seen Connie get that thing in the air, dump the pressure and watch good old hypoxia take care of the rest.... lips turn blue, nose & eardrums bleed..... not a pleasant way to die (as if there is any pleasant way).

I still love the legend of "Ypsilanti Kaletti and the Hanger of Doom"!!! It just seems to fit in right now with the new Indiana Jones movie! By the way......I went and saw that last Friday and really enjoyed it! Not too shabby for a 65 year old!!!

That is the story! The guy tried to hijack Connie and he pulled an Indiana Jones on his butt!!! That was the name that was given to him by the crew after the incident.

Suzie since you have your finger on the pulse of all things Kalitta, perhaps you may know who is in the left seat of the Kalitta Lear that has been making very very low passes over the house on Willow Road ?
