Ronnie Sox vs Grumpy allways brought the fans to there feet.
I would have to rank these two near the top.

WJ and Greg Anderson for a current rivalry, and Glidden & Shepherd for an old school matchup.

Glidden and RMS was probably the best. Prior to that, Glidden and Gapp & Roush was hotly contested, as well. They went to the Finals before the championship was decided one year and Gapp won enough rounds to clinch the title, until he came up light at the scales, allowing Bob to win the title.

Agree'd Bobby! This was the BEST rivalry of all time! But, in regards to this poll, I think that the WJ vs. (the late) Scott G..... was the best! Nothing better than Teacher vs. Student!

Definitely my pick for all time PS rivalry.

The best part is that it was a rivalry with a LOT of mutual respect.

Great picks Karl! Grump seemed to really focus on the HEMI cars...I guess he missed driving them! Remember Grump laying on the starting line watching the underside of Reid Whisnant's car after Reid put up a big number? That was great stuff.

Glidden dominated the likes of RM & WJ in the 80's. It was fun to watch, but you knew Glidden's HEMI was gonna' get em. The Geoffrion rivalry and WJ's meltdown on live TV was great as was his 'Punk' comment on DC. Warren has created several rivalries along the way, but most were based on his cutting remarks about his competitors. Glidden's rivalries were performance based. The GM teams loved to hate Bob Glidden and he consistently beat them like the neighbors dog.

I'll go with Gllidden.

Glidden may have dominated WJ in the 80's, but RM???

Reher & Morrison owned the 80's, my friend. If it weren't for a broken transmission in the second round in Pomona, they win every championship in the 80's until Lee was taken from us.

It's all good, though, Johnny. Can't wait to meet you this fall in KC!

It was about the classic Ford vs. Chevrolet, back when it actually meant something.

I'd have to agree that today it is definetly GA/JL vs. ANYBODY connected to Cagnazzi.

I didn't remember RM having that much success. I must have been following Glidden too closely.

Thanks for the kind words...make sure you stop by and say hello in KC. We're putting on the same event at Gateway later this month. Hope you can make it there. Welcome to Muscle Car Reunion and Nostalgia Drags

We have been tossing around coming to the St. Louis race, but the car is being painted right now and we're going to have to hustle to get to Joliet next weekend for their Match Race Madness. St. Louis isn't out of the question, but if we miss that, you can be sure we'll see you in KC.

Later,

Sean D
