After he explained it I got a whole new respect for the guys in TV, it ain't easy. Something else about Paul, he LOVES Drag Racing. He said that he has been going to the U.S. Nationals as a fan since the 60's (as long as his work schedule would allow). Sure, he makes a mistake here and there but who doesn't. As far as "Vandergrith", how do you know Paul is saying it wrong on purpose. Is it possible that maybe he IS saying "Vandergriff" but it sounds like Vandergrith because of another reason. I don't know but maybe Paul has a problem with a tooth or something and it just sounds wrong? I say, WHO CARES? I know who and what he is talking about and I assume everybody else here does as well. Big deal, get over it. Paul Page is OK in my book.

Dave, as I mentioned before in other threads, I think Paul has improved greatly since he began with the NHRA broadcasts, and my little comment wasn't meant to be a big bash...it just seems sometimes that Paul wants to foster a belief in the viewers that he is MUCH more familiar with the drivers and their situations than he really is. It simply seemed kinda strange that an announcer, after the Eric situation, and all the talk and explanations of the "three amigos", would confuse Antron Brown with JR Todd in his repeated references to Brandon's "buddy". I don't think I would have given it a second thought had it just been a passing reference in the heat of battle, but it came up several times.
No malice intended here, just an observation to see if anyone else noticed.

Re: Just one little Paul Page comment
I've been a big anti Paul guy but even I will admit he's gotten better. Still not to the level he needs to be but there has been an improvement.
Judging by his commentary I'm surprised that he was a fan before. Often it hasn't seem like he has the background/knowledge. I still stronger believe that between Reif, Alan and the part time guy (for some reason I can never remember his name) They have 3 superior choices for that position.
As for as mispronouncing names for the most part I don't care. Hell I've got one of those name nobdy can say right and its only 2 letter lol ok I mean the last name.
Back in the day somebody used to say Kalitta as something way different.

Re: Just one little Paul Page comment
for the most part i think pp has improved since he replaced marty
but...I can't stop laughing when I remember what he said about clay millican in THE SECOND ROUND OF ELIMINATIONS. "As for millican, he's still trying to win his first round of racing all year"

It's OK Terry, I wasn't lettin' you have it. I understand what you meant and you're right. What Paul said was a bit odd. Sometimes I just get a little miffed when the only enjoyment certain people (not you) can get is by pointing out other people's flaws.

Re: Just one little Paul Page comment
I don't take joy in pointing out the man's flaws but as a customer I think I have to expect more. I've learned to live with him. If it gets too bad I fast forward through his talking
