No he was storing a drum of some kind of fuel for a fellow racer and some spilled into his tank. LOL

Re: what happened to line?
It sounded like something went south in the drivetrain, from the in car sound.

Not so sure about that! Flames coming out from under the engine might mean the oil pan went south (due to something coming through it).
Apparently made a huge mess. Jason probably should have pulled over, but considering the way PS was going, he might have coasted to a win! -

Re: what happened to line?
I'd speculate that the bottom end spit some parts out given the amount of fragments exiting the car to the right and the immediate oil fire on the headers. If you slow-mo the replay, you can even recognize the appearance of aluminum in the exiting parts. That would almost have to be rods/pistons in a P/S car's bottom end. Like Greg said, they push the limit every pass with these cars and any one of a hundred things could fail and cause mass destruction. I'm just grateful to see the new daddy (again) walk away safely.
They'll be back.

Re: what happened to line?
Anytime you turn a 500 inch motor to 10,000rpm parts will and do fail. What they will most likely do is find out what happened and if not a fluke they will go and see how many cycle are on the part and then shorten the replacement cycle.

I'm with Bobby. Probably a broken rod through the pan, oil onto headers.

On the replay it sounded as if they missed the setup on the clutch and it just spun hard.

Indeed, if this sort of thing becomes a habit, how much longer before they require the P/Stocks to run full diapers?
