slow speeds? 207mph into the turn at atlanta? ok. i dig pretty much all racing nhra,irl,arca,nascar,ihra.... not into trucks/nhra bikes/f-1. lol i was cracking up last night waiting for nhra quals on espn2...guys play college volleyball?? r u kifdding me? lololol that just looked wrong!!

I would think most Mater's enjoy all motorsports. I just got home from Slinger Speedway (World's fastest 1/4 mile oval)(Home of Matt Kenseth, Robbie Reiser, Alan Kluwicki and more) they put on an excellent show.

I like drag racing followed by sprint car dirt racing as a close second. But I also enjoy the NASCAR Cup and truck series, both of which I have followed for years.

I used to be a big Nascar guy, followed it alot every week. Then I went to the IRL race a few years back and the racing was 10 times better. I havent been back to the nascar race since. I still follow it some and actually I have watched the last 2 races but they have been only 4 races I've watched all year. NHRA is still king to me and always will be.

I turn on a nascar race when I feel like taking a nap, it works better than a sleeping pill IMHO.

Nascar like drag racing has changed a lot over the years...but they still put on a decent show...and if there are no drag races it is much better than some of the other shows on the tube. I have attended nascar events but would much rather attentd drag races...but if the tickets are free...I'll go. Like some of the others have stated IRL is better...I enjoy attending an IRL race...but even there it is still no contest...attending a drag race will win every time.

I don't follow the toothless ones at all like I do the straight-liners but I'll admit to watching them. I even have my favorites to root for. Tomorrow, on your way to work, count the stickers with NASCAR numbers or names in traffic and you'll agree that they have promoted quite well. Heck, I'll venture to say that housewives have even gotten into it over the rivalries within that sport.
I think NASCAR does a great job of showcasing the individuals and their teams and even manufacturers. I find that people love to hate some drivers/teams due to the rivalries and personalities that are displayed. Case in point, after today, Kyle Busch may want to lay low after intentionally sending Dale Jr. into the wall.
I find myself rooting for anybody but Tony Stewart, Kyle and Kurt Busch as a result of their on and off track antics. I also understand others who love them for their "Edgy" attitudes. To each his/her own.

MY HEART HAS ALWAYS BEEN WITH DRAG RACING. I DO FOLLOW NASCAR, HAVE A FANTASY LEAGUE, LIKE TO WATCH RACES LIKE RICHMOND AND UPCOMING DARLINGTON, THE TECHNOLOGY INTREAGUES ME, BUT DRAG RACING'S #1. PROBABLY WOULD VISIT FORUM IF THERE WAS ONE.

If you want to see real circle track racing, go to your local 1/4, 3/8 or 1/2 mile track and watch the late models. Best stock car racing there is. Mostly racers on a low budget that run like there is no tomorrow. Good stuff.
The Cup series and Nationwide series has become boring in the last several years. Its all about the money and who can get the fast young guys on board. If you are 22 years old without a big chance, you are probably never going to get one. Go to your local track and watch them rock and roll.

I followed it pretty close back in the 90's, but the last few years I've drifted from it. Can't remember the last time I watched a complete race.
