What if?

What will NHRA's response be if the car count in TF (arguably the kings of the sport) continues to be low struggling to fill the 16 car field. Wasn't this a problem in the eighties and IHRA suspended TF for a time.

Jack, back in 2000-01 the counts in TF were low as well, Mike Dunn, Eddie Hill and a couple others lost sponsors so some of the fields for the first 8-10 races were as low as 15 cars. Scott Weis and a couple of other guys made the switch Funny cars to Dragster for that reason, I suspect you'll start seeing some independents show up knowing they'll have a pretty decent chance to qualify.
