I hear they're letting the dirt track 'go' a bit. I understand they are more interested in the drag strip than making sure the circle guys are taken care of. True?

I hadn't looked up anything about Hilger in a few years. I thought he'd turned his life around.

They were married and living here in OKC. He owned a popular restaurant / bar called the T-Bar which we played on a regular basis (back when I was a rock-n-roll machine ). They ended up getting busted for trying to purchase cocaine from an undercover officer. This was all circa 1991 - 1994 or so.

Well I am not no lori fan..by far....But I do own that trailer in the Vid .and would love to see some pic of the pits or trailer..or truck..

Its the usual: Dirt trackers say they favor the drag racers, drag racers say they favor the dirt trackers. Honestly I dont know b/c I dont go to the dirt track often enough to really know the answer, but I will say that the dragstrip used to be one of the finest in the country and its not anymore. Its ok, but they could do alot more to keep it up. Ofcourse it looks its best in March/April b/c of the nationa. On the dragstrip side of it, the worst part is there are only 5 weekends of bracket races all year! 5 weekends, one race Sat and one race Sun, so 10 races all together. Gary Rollo runs the dirt track and Seth Angel runs the dragstrip. Maybe if Seth could keep his damn helicopter on the ground for longer than 10 minutes at a time with today's fuel prices we might actually have some more races.

Over the years I watched and met most of the stars of the day as Tulsa was always on the match race radar and the independent 'Spring Nationals' a drag racing staple...Lori was here one year, met her, just reminded me of another OSU or OU sorority blonde...'cept she went to T&A M I think...

BUT...the thing that I noticed most after watching the YouTube piece...look at how diversified and how much coverage she got back then...today we have Ashley Force, Lauri Cannister...and a number of other female racers winning big and hardly a notice...

Just seems that drag racing, that was all over the planet in the 60's-80's media wise continues to fade into the wallpaper more and more as time goes on...

Just my take...

BUT, I am really looking forward to the ADRL making it to Tulsa this June!

She says that she blames the people making decisions for Lori ..rather than her personally..for most of the hate out there.

Yea..you can't legally put Lori and Shelly in the same sentence..or Shirley for that matter.

I am not a fan of the lawsuit as i'm a Van Cleve fan. By the way Jim Jr is building another Fairlane and should be out soon. They were totally out of racing for a long time.

Some of you make Lori out to be a real witch. Maybe she was the Paris Hilton of Drag Racing but I thought she was pretty and seemed gracious when i'd met her.
