Re: Force A 1.70 light then up in smoke!

When Ashley beat John last year in Atlanta during their first round race, John was THRILLED. He got out of his car, went over there, and kissed her. Tonight he was dejected and pissed. He wanted the 1000th round win at his 500th race, I would assume. He was happy for his kid getting a W, but in no way, shape, or form would John Force (in my opinion) EVER throw a race.

If you think he did, you need to ring your call button, and Tommy will come over and smack you on the head with a tackhammer because you are a retard.

Congrats to Ashley, Guido, and all of Team Force! You guys kicked everyone's butt this weekend, and deserved to get the W!

Uh yeah Im thinking John was going out there for the win...Did any of you see the interview after the race?? Im half thinking it wasnt very nice of him to act the way he did during the interview...he seemed like he wasnt even happy for her. I'd say any of you to think that was staged are CRAZY!

Ashley was a win waiting to happen, but to see her get her first win that way was pretty lame IMO! Flame away...

Congrats Ashley! Some people wouldn't be happy at a party with free beer and ice cream!!
She earned it the old-fashioned way and I can't believe we are even having this discussion...

Re: Force A 1.70 light then up in smoke!

Hey, naysayers, some other things to consider... we have had great timeslots on ESPN for the races lately (albeit Too Many commercials) but guess what... it's all thanks to Force. John Force is this sport. His heart and soul are this sport. People are finally relating to drag racing because of him. There's no one else as charismatic, or a better spokesman for the NHRA. Who cares if he, maybe, fell apart (he is old ya know) racing his oldest daughter. One thousandth or first! Not to mention, Ashley wanted to kick his butt
Force Racing is truly beyond reproach. Have some respect.

Congrats Ashley and crew. Her win was no different than many TF or FC race winners in the past . You get one lucky round, first round for Ashley and 3 other rounds of good races. Say what you will about John in the final- He would have had to run quicker than a .83 in the final with a RT of 000 to win the race. Plus as for Ashley backing into the win she was consistent all day- .87, .95, .84 and the .83 in the final.
On another subject great job by John at the end of the race staying away from Ashley at the end of the track letting her have the spotlight she deserves. Plus He made some genuine comments about women and our sport, but you could see he was disappointed, was it his reaction time or his going up smoke. Or was his knowing some knuckleheads were going to be questioning his daughters win as being handed to her.
All I know she's been to 3 straight finals, won 1, leading the pack right now and getting to be a fine driver.
Great job Ashley and team.

I`ll give her a little credit for cutting a decent light in the final (.099). Of course it helps that Pops decide to read the Sports page up there after he lit the second bulb.

Then she must`ve have cut the .099 in the semi. A .110 is still a good light for her. I`m sure she`ll only get better!

I try to keep my replies here positive, but you are idiots -
Thank you for your "positive" idiot accusation. Think logically and not emotionally. Dont let these facts get in the way of your opinion.
Lets review: J. Force - 4.84, 4.82, 4.84 ...
final round: cant even get the car to even launch, smoke at the hit.
Any jury would find "reasonable doubt". Obviously nothing close to "total BS" as you alluded to. And I think John did the right thing, this time only. Him and Tony P. traded "favors" many times during a few championship runs. Nothing new about this.

Re: Force A 1.70 light then up in smoke!

Many props to the entire John Force Racing Team. Man are they rock solid. This entire thread should be nothing but very high props.
Have any of you naysayers thought what it would be like to go up for a final round, with your 1000th round win at stake at your 500th race, while also going up against your Daughter in a first ever Father Daughter funny car final.
Now you are also trying to win just for the sake of winning and moving up in the points. Oh and you do not have lane choice when it was semi apparent you might need it in a funny car.
John Force is drag racing and will always be, it is just awesome to watch his daughter turn into the same thing. She really is a good driver. This was absolutely the best race to watch ever.
GO TEAM FORCE!!!!!

Re: Force A 1.70 light then up in smoke!

Papa Force was in a dammed if you do, dammed if you don't situation in the finals. He was going to get criticized no matter what happened, if he would have won, people would be saying how dumb it was of him to beat Ashley since she needs her first win and to protect/extend her points lead. If he lost, people would be crying about a dive. If the fix was in, Coil could certainly have put a 5.00 tuneup on it and let Ashley pull away with her .83. I think Papa Force was embarrassed the car didn't go 100 feet because he knows it is going to create doubt and suspicion. In any event, nothing but positives can come out of Ashley winning. Ashley did get some Sportscenter play, they actually put up a graphic comparing her to Danica and it was duly noted that Ashley got the W in half the races it took Danica.

Congrats to Ashley! Here's to many more!
