Re: Force A 1.70 light then up in smoke!
Ok, thanks for the comforting words! Guess I can sit out on the patio tonight and have a beer or two without worrying. Supposably--that would drive me nuts also--did he happen to say "onliest one" or THEE ater or Nucular? My ex was famous (infamous) for those!

You know you may be on to something here, Force and Capps are pretty chummy. I think this idea may have some legs... now where did I put Oliver Stone's number?

Sorry Terry but that made me chuckle.
I don't know Jim, this story is so huge and complicated I'm not sure Oliver Stone could handle it alone. Maybe Michael Moore could co-direct it with him. I mean this controversy makes "JFK" look like an episode of "The Honeymooners".

Look Nebraski, I happen to believe no one in their Right mind (or left mind for that matter) would come after you in the middle of nowhere. Just 'cause I blew pass there a couple of times to make the BOSS happy doesn't mean I'm in my right or left mind...
Have we lo-jac'd this thread yet?

Re: Force A 1.70 light then up in smoke!
Bellieve it or not, Karl, I spent the morning in a meeting with some Lo-Jack reps--seems our Tractor customers from Home Depot have problems with the tractors coming back from rentals....so they are requesting us to install the Lo-Jacks on their tractors right here at the factory! And as you well know, life in the cornfield ain't all that bad! Heck, I got a possum that comes out of the cornfield in the evening and eats with the cats. No kidding! And the cats seem to kind like him.....weirdness...

Is that our role now. The hi-jack police. Taking endless and pointless and way the hell beaten to death threads off to their happy resting place. Why do I hear they're coming to take me away music

Re: Force A 1.70 light then up in smoke!
I knew this was going to get started. I remember Ashley saying she would like to race anyone but her dad when she got her first win. It's obvious why she said that. I don't believe he let her have it. He never gave it up for Robert, Tony, Gary, or Eric. So why would he for Ashley? I know some will say because it's his daughter but I don't think he would just blow a race even for his kid. He wanted her to earn it and she did. I think she would of out run him anyway if he didn't go up in smoke. I'm sure he will make Zippy earn it too. I also remember seeing how upset he was at the end. I think he was yelling at Coil!!!!!!! I'm happy to see Ashley get her first win and I'm sure there will be many more!!!!!

Re: Force A 1.70 light then up in smoke!
The sad thing is Lynn, we know there have been dives in the past. We know it. That's why it's even thought of at all.
I been *****ing how I hate team cars in the same category in drag racing on the internet since 1996 when I had a 56K modem. Why? This is why.
No matter what happened in that final round, Ford wins. Castrol wins. JFR wins. It's a win win for everyone - except the fans. Johns reaction was either pure frustration in not giving his daughter a race knowing the speculation would run rampant, or a brilliant acting job. Problem is , we don't know. It's too bad , but he started it when he hired Tony in 1996. I sure wish I could dig up some of my old threads but I never liked team cars in drag racing. It's bad enough in F1 and Indy - but head to head elimination races? It's a bad deal. I know team cars are good for business. I guess....
But whatever. Fire up the next pair. It's still a great show.
My posts on this subject are motivated by one thing - I wanted Ashley's first win to be as big a deal and as emotional as Danica's was the week before. I don't feel like it was, and it's dissappointing.
Before anyone here calls anyone a name - just remember we're all here for one reason - we love this thing called Drag Racing. Period.
