Thoughts that came into my head while browsing the collection, in no particular order:

Gravel pits, no ropes, walk right up.
STUPID hats!
One word: Sideburns
No, it wasn't just hormones. Jungle Pam WAS that breathtaking.
Rusty Glidden was really young when he started helping his dad.
Pro Comp rules!
Shirley Muldowney and Afrosheen.
You could plug your scoop with a jacket/t shirt/pillowcase. Nobody cared.
Pro Stockers were actually real cars. They drove to the starting line in a parade.
The Rod Shop Hemi Colt has to be one of the top 5 cool comp cars of all time.
That picture of Jenkins may be the best I've ever seen.

OK, enough of a geezer wheezing about the good old days. But, hopefully the other old guys out there can help me with a couple of questions.

Whose Pro Stock car is shown in the photos of a wrecked car in the shutdown area?

I can't read the emblem on the quarter panel of Garlits' truck. What did they call those? Prospectors?

Anyhow, thanks so much for the memories.
in ref to your short list lmao...
yepper I had a brim or two like Beck's... now all my hats come from Fox Fire...
sideburns check.... Pam check, Perm... I mean Fro... yeah... all others... boy howdy....

Something is very important about Pic # 91.. care to guess
oh, did I say Pam, somethings are burn into a young man's brain forever...

Ya got me, pal. There looks to be a larger than normal group of officials behind the line...The right lane already has a green light while the left lane looks like it's still got the pedal on the mat...The left lane looks like a real racy car (Mustang or Maverick?) but the car on the right ain't so racy (Gremlin?)...Whatever is happening, it sure has everybody's attention.

Maybe d'kid somehow appears in that image?

Speaking of Pam, I ran into her at Reading back about 99 or so. She's still got that smile, the looks, the....

...uh, t-shirts?

All kidding aside, I really enjoyed talking to her. Nice lady.

Edit: Waitta minute! The picture clue is yellow shorts?

I didn't take this...I wasn't even thought of in 1972.

It's from a guy I work with.

Re: Let's See Your Garlits Photos

Here's Garlits and myself at the Southern Nationals in 2005. I was so star struck I could hardly say anything to him. I was surprised that he wasn't a taller man. There are lots of drivers that look smaller than I expect from seeing them on TV.

Wayne.

here's one I took at the 84(?) Winternationals...I was lucky enough to have Big Daddy autograph a copy of the pic, but I think my room-mate at the time absconded with it
