Here are a few from the BilletProof show at Garlits' place on Easter weekend. Also here is a link to some shots I took in his museum as well. Hope you enjoy.

Re: Let's See Your Garlits Photos
Steve, this is an incredible photo gallery! I really appreciate the shots of the Sattelmaier B/A. Growing up in the early 70's, it was one of my favorite local cars running at Dragway 42. I remember they would bring the car around to the elementary schools for PAL anti-smoking / anti-drinking assemblies.

Re: Let's See Your Garlits Photos
Thanks for sharing Steve. That collection is awesome! Took me back to a better time in Drag Racing. Wish I'd kept mine from the late 60's and early 70's.

Re: Let's See Your Garlits Photos
You guys are very welcome, and thanks for the compliments.
I originally was just trying to add a couple of links to the Gar photos, in keeping with the thread topic, and not expecting anyone to spend the time looking at everything else.
Glad you all liked them, and thanks again.
Steve

This is an exact replica of Swamp Rat 1-B that was built in 1959 after the Chester, SC fire.

Hey Mike,
Tell your brother Tim "hey" for me! And ask him if he saw that Spar is driving a sprint car now!

Re: Let's See Your Garlits Photos
steve,
i think your photo album is the best group of pics anyone has ever shared
here on the mater - present or past racing - incredible. thank you.
priceless images.
if i hit 'view album' in the 6th horizontal row of pics there's a shot of don p.
in front of pickup topper - in the window of the topper there is an old
NHRA pillow case hanging in window, you can read 'super nationals'.
i still have that exact pillow case and still in mint condition; also a
matching towel and washcloth with oval NHRA logo.

That interview was great. Anyone know what year that was from? Also, check out the Wax Daddy video clip. That guy is hilarious.

Re: Let's See Your Garlits Photos
I'm usually a bit ho-hum about photo albums but I have to agree with the others - these are SO excellent. They brought back some great memories of the way drag racing used to be. It was great to remember some of those cars I'd forgotten about long ago.
Thoughts that came into my head while browsing the collection, in no particular order:
Gravel pits, no ropes, walk right up.
STUPID hats!
One word: Sideburns
No, it wasn't just hormones. Jungle Pam WAS that breathtaking.
Rusty Glidden was really young when he started helping his dad.
Pro Comp rules!
Shirley Muldowney and Afrosheen.
You could plug your scoop with a jacket/t shirt/pillowcase. Nobody cared.
Pro Stockers were actually real cars. They drove to the starting line in a parade.
The Rod Shop Hemi Colt has to be one of the top 5 cool comp cars of all time.
That picture of Jenkins may be the best I've ever seen.
OK, enough of a geezer wheezing about the good old days. But, hopefully the other old guys out there can help me with a couple of questions.
Whose Pro Stock car is shown in the photos of a wrecked car in the shutdown area?
I can't read the emblem on the quarter panel of Garlits' truck. What did they call those? Prospectors?
Anyhow, thanks so much for the memories.
