Did Paul Page say this?
I didn't tape it, but during TF qualifying, he said the shoe polish on the wheelie bar wheel was to see if the car is rolling backward on the sloped track.
Does this have any basis in reality? I always thought it was to understand how far the wheelie bars are contacting the track - for chassis set up and wheelie bar effectiveness issues?
Clarify, please.

Never heard that before...
Just one thing: Does anything PP says have any "basis in reality?"

Paul Page may have made the statement you quoted but we tend to tune him out, a lot. Mike Dunn explained chalking the wheels to verify wheelie bar settings, as you stated.

Re: Did Paul Page say this?
As much as I HATE PP and his idiotic comments, the comment in question was that they have to choke the wheels at the end of the track to keep them from rolling backwards do to the slope till the atvs can toe them off ( If the driver has exited the car )

Re: Did Paul Page say this?
Hey man, at least this time he called it a wheelie bar and not a "rollie bar".

And he called Mike Dunn "Bob" when "Rob" Passey was at the line...

That was with Dixon in the booth. I'd like to say I'd like to see him in there often.....but, nah. That means he isn't going rounds and I don't wish that on anybody!

Re: Did Paul Page say this?
But Larry Dixon was especially good in the booth yesterday, even he was there because of misfortune....he was really loose and really funny with his quips, comments, and stories. He did a great job

Re: Did Paul Page say this?
The best part of last night's broadcast was "Sounds of the Strip" when they both shut up for a few seconds. I stood in the shop many a time mouth agape over some of the "information" spewing from the broadcast booth. Very distracting while you are trying to build a set of wheelie bars and enjoy the racing action and have to stomach the constant flow of terrible anecdotes and incorrect statements.
As the fat, comic book store guy on The Simpsons would say, "Worst episode ever!"

That was funny. Kind of Beavis and Butthead like, eh?
And while talking about freestyle motocross (or something like that), Mike said those guys get "sick air". I kept waiting for Paul to razz him or for Mike to joke around about it, but maybe Mike is just that hip.
