Re: Elmer Trett

I'll never forget seeing him lose his life at Indy '96! That was the first time I ever saw him race!

Re: Elmer Trett

That was a very sad weekend indeed. The same weekend Blaine Johnson also lost his life.
I'm sure his wife Jackie "Ma Trett" and his daughter Jina are reliving some fond memorys today.
He is sorley missed in the Top Fuel Motorcycle world and will always be remembered as a pioneer in the sport !

I'd like to know that too. I've lost Jackies number and would like to see how she's doing. She closed up the shop a number of years ago now.

Regards,

Mike

Ahhh the 96 Prostar race. I have some fantastic footage of that race. Elmer was on his game that weekend, and if that rain never came, well in my mind he would have ran a 5.

Quotes from Elmer after the 6.06

"In my mind I knew it had to work, I thought this thing was making a lot of steam, Everybody is entitled to get lucky if they work long enough"

"All we were doing was tuning. This motorcycle was too lean. It needed a lot more liquid (Nitro) in it, I kept putting more in it and it kept going faster and I couldn't catch up with it"

Happy Birthday Elmer Trett... You are still missed.
