Gilby in a Miata?

I was checking the Funny Car entry list for Houston and noticed that Bob Gilbertson is entered and it says he's driving a 2007 Miata?

Typo?

I'd say a typo alright....but how would you type in Miata to the FC entry list......it's not like there are any nitro Miata floppers running around that I'm aware of...

A ragtop nitro funny car? If it's true (the Miata part), I applaud it. We need some more manufacturer diversity in that class. Let's get back to circa late '70's.... when you had all kinds of cars. Trans Ams, Monza's, Buicks, Corvettes, Mustangs.... each with thier own little unique identity features. They're all cookie cutter today.

Maybe someone over in the nostalgia ranks could run a Yugo, that's if they weren't all used up in the movie 'Drowning Mona'....

Hey...I got to see the Beach City Chevrolet Corvette run last weekend at Famoso. A tip of the cap to the folks at Estrus racing for the repop because they did a really *****in job on that car. Besides, it looked MUCH better than the LAST time it saw it. Last time it was merging onto the 5 freeway next to 'The County' totally on fire and NO turn signals!

Re: Gilby in a Miata?

Here's quote from Berserko's 3/12 blog.

"One last thing...Check out the Houston entry list and see what kind of car we're racing.

BB "

Sounds like BB having fun with the entry list?
