Re: Response from Evan Knoll

The battle is not against flesh and blood, but that is usually where we try to fight it. There is always a tension in drag racing between those who view or are involved with it as a hobby, or as a business. Those who are involved with abundant means and those who have sacrificed to compete. I come from the latter. When I see something like this, I tend to sympathize with those whose livelihood may be jepardized. There is no question that Mr. Knoll has been extremely generous to this sport, but it ultimately is a hobby for him. Maybe it's a microcosm of our indebted American society that has spent what it has not yet earned. You can't blame the credit card companies, you must look in the mirror.
I think we're blind and all in a big room, each one trying to describe the part of the elephant we are touching - none of us seeing the whole thing.

Ron,
There is no such thing in my world as "standing behind something wrong".
If you make a promise, I hope you keep if my friend, or will you blame your welched deal onto someone or something else??
My dad told me years ago, "You can only lose your character once"

There are always choices Ron, and it's sometimes tougher to do the right thing. To deflect those wrong choices onto a "team" is weak, and a major league cop-out in my book. The more money and success you have, the easier it is to sell it to someone like Bobby or you..
Ultimately, through all of the mudslinging between us, we define character differently.

In regards to Bobby, that's exactly how I feel, sorry if you don't agree. I'm certainly not about "getting along" with anybody, and really don't care if you or anybody else likes me. I'm about what's right & wrong, and TOTALLY about doing the right thing in my life. If that's a character flaw in me, I think I can live with it....
All that's fine to debate about. When you publicly make ASSUMPTIONS about WHY Bobby's saying something, THEN try to say it wasn't personal? Bullsh*t. You tried to make yourself look better than you were, even while apologizing. If you've got that kind of denial, I'm sure you CAN live with it.

I don't judge people based on how I FEEL about them. You don't publicly take pot shots at someone's name. You did it to Bobby based on your guesses. I did it to you based on exactly what you said about him.

Thank you very much, Karl! LOL, I was mistaken about my schedule for this week and until yesterday afternoon, thought I had to leave yesterday afternoon, so she was all nice to me (wonderful steak dinner, cake, etc) a day ahead of time. Then I find out that I don't leave until THIS afternoon. I'm telling her "Hey, it IS still my birthday." I can't post her reply here!

If you want to call it personal, that's fine with me.
If you make a statement, or offer an opinion on such a personal subject like this, I would suggest that you quit hiding behind the "personal" shield when your motives are questioned, and answer the questions.
You're reasoning is weird to me, sorry if that's getting personal...

This whole situation will be remembered forever. Everybody who is anybody has peobably followed it.
The reason it will be remembered isn't primarliy because of what happened, or even "why" it happened, the truth will come out eventually, but rather by the unnecessary, unprofessional boastful and self serving response to spin an extremely negative action. Couple that with the physical threats, it's safe to say that most people find this strange enough to never forget.

I know this thread has run it's course. We (some) as good men and women look at our conscience as our guide.

I am out.

"Hiding?" Now you're doing it to me. My motives aren't the ones that have been questioned here. You questioned Bobby's and I questioned yours. You did it on assumption. I did it on fact. Again, these are your words.

Sorry Bobby if it seemed personal, but it truly wasn't,....
Tell me how the first quote above WOULDN'T be personal. In your contradiction, I think you could only be dishonest or not very bright. If there's another possibility, I'd love to hear it.

I would have called you on that had you done it to ANYONE without anything to base your accusations on. I would stake the lives of my loved ones, my life, and everything I own on the honesty of anything said by any of the Millers I've met.

The irony is you DOING exactly what you're accusing Bobby of doing. You're suggesting that he has bad intentions by doing nothing more than guessing what his are. You have bad intentions WHILE accusing him of it.

You should be fine. You've got Terry Jones vouching for your "out of the box" thinking! Keep at it and maybe you'll start getting compliments for being passionate and outspoken!

OK Ron, you have the right to feel the way you do, and I respect that.

I have learned a lot from you guys, I really have. In my own way, I want to thank you.
In fact, I think you guys have opened the eyes of many who have learned some new and valuable lessons about people, respect, business, contracts, interpretations, character, the power of celebrity, and it's affects on the weak minded.

Best of luck, and a safe 2008.

Now let ME take a stab at assuming what YOU'RE doing. You're avoiding specifically addressing the contradiction I pointed out TWICE because you "truly" (LOL) can't defend it. Yeah, we're the ones with the problems. It's "us guys."

Have a good 2008 yourself.

Hey Evan,

Im new to this site as a member but have been following it for a while. I think you summed it up perfectly with your quote above! I dont care what anyone says you have been a great person to our sport and I just wanted you to know that.

Im Canadian and noticed that your company recently became the presenting sponsor of the Pro Modified Racing Association and I wanted to thank you for that. I think it would be awesome if you could get involved with a Canadian fuel team if you return to sponsor more teams in 2009.

I keep up with this team quite a bit and I thought you might find the owner's blog for this month interesting... Northern Force Racing - Bogus Notes

Im keepin my fingers crossed for ya. Hope to see you healthy and back doin what you love soon!

Brian

Re: Response from Evan Knoll

Hmm blood leaking in brain ! Very dangerous pressure in places/nerve endings causing many problems , black outs medications .
What !
He has to continue to make decisions on a mirad of things on many teams and only he can call the shots, but despite many years of funding teams who may not have still been around to get shafted by a CEO who should have bought a Vette with two keys [ I know Jungle Jim ] .

Again I hope Even has a full recovery and everyone needs to drink a beer and do the American thing of pulling a rabit out of a hat and go racing.

At least that part hasn't changed.

Some who know Tolivar might try to get his sponsor hunting notes.
Maybe Jerry could open a school for sponsor hunting Racers !

His pullout was felt at Pomona. No Doug Foley and no Clay Millican.

Re: Response from Evan Knoll

Latest update on the Evan story,
The Clay Millican team was shut down this past week (April,08) all the crew guys ,including
Lance, Johnny and Clay have been laid off. They were working on a new shop ,and the ex Scotty Cannon car.
Bobby Lagana might be at Rockingham if he can put a crew together.
