Damned lowlifes. They'll piece it out I suppose. I'd like to get my hands on them.

Re: Car and Trailer ripped out

Why don't we insist all thieves have their contact info be placed in a national database like child molesters. We could also post a clear and distinct list of the things they have stolen.

I'm still looking for an affordable tracking system to put in our transporter for the day it is stolen. I'd much rather have my wife at home giving instructions to my sons and I from the Internet feed telling us where it is located so we can get our hard-earned stuff back before the police take their sweet time with their investigation. It would also provide personal contact with the slime ball while in the act. As the Beach Boys say "Wouldn't it be Nice?"

So sorry to hear this. Don't know if you know this but Tommy Johnson Sr. sells really good alarm systems. Too late for this situation, but going forward I'd say it is a 'must' investment. Praying that all will be recovered safely.

I know he will appreciate all your help in this. I had heard somewhere that there is a lowjack system out there for trailers. Has anyone seen a product?

I'm not 100% sure but I think Sr.'s system will prevent it from being stolen, so no need to locate it. Probably not cheap, but neither are the things you're trying to protect.

I think if you log on to Jr.s website, you will find the info there.

Call for Details

starts at $300...seems reasonable enough to me...obviously more for all the goodies....says it will lock the trailer brakes when it goes off

That's the last damn thing that Hampton needed! I live about a mile from his shop but I'm afraid that thing is far from here and across the Southern border at this point...sigh.

The problem I see with LoJack is that you are at the mercy of the police for any information. I want a GPS unit that I can personally track from our computer over the net so I can meet the culprits in person. I'm just funny that way. Waiting for the police is something I have done enough times. They seem to have their own schedule and it never seems to mesh with my sense of urgency? Hey, maybe if we put a huge Dunkin Donuts sticker on the trailer it will remain secure in any environment?

Re: Car and Trailer ripped out

I have had my daughter's Saturn stolen twice and it was recovered both times because of Lojack. The only problem with Lojack is, it is activated AFTER the police put the VIN number in the stolen vehicle database. Once the number is entered, the Lojack (somehow) knows and the satellite activates the unit. The first time the car was stolen, it took the San Diego Sheriff's about two hours to come to my home and take a report. Once the report was taken, the Sheriff called in the VIN number. One hour later they had a signal on the car and the driver led them on a short chase before escaping on foot. The good news is we got the car back with minimal damage. I think that it would be easy to hide a Lojack in a trail wired into 12 volts all the time. If the power is cut, it has an internal battery that will last up to 3 days. I will never buy a new car again with a Lojack.

Bobby, My brother in law has a system that does exactly what you are asking for it to do, including shutting off the vehicle using your PC. It also monitors real time travel and location. Take a look at Tracpro's website. His units are amazing in what they can do from your home PC.
