Re: Hight confirmed; Ashley Force, Neff, Burkart wait for go ahead to race Vegas
And Don Schumacher thought Mike was just going to end up as another crew chief!
I guess John is a pretty good judge of talent isn't he?
Good Job Mike N. and John M.!

If Mike just wasn't so darn loud and crazy with his interviews.
But, it is hard to get a word in with Alan there!

Not a bad showing for Team Force, all four cars in the show. I am not a huge fan of Team Force, but I would not mind seeing them win this weekend after the year they have had.

It appears that "old school" Plueger chassis might just have some stuff for the rest of the field. Is that Cinderella lurking around the corner.

Re: Hight confirmed; Ashley Force, Neff, Burkart wait for go ahead to race Vegas
From Vegas today....
1) John Force was here today. He had his walker out and stood on the sides of the starting line for all his cars runs today...Both sessions.
2) Phil Burkhart Jr. Ran Johns car and has done a solid job driving the car. Robert's #1 lap tonight was damm near flawless..Right down Broadway.
3) Mike Neff driving the 4th JFR Car...(Eric's Team) made two PERFECT SINGLE PASSES.... Let me repeat... TWO PERFECT PASSES, No dropped cylinders, No Tire Smoke, No Shake..RIGHT DOWN BROADWAY..*(OR THE STRIP IN THIS CASE!) I'm not really sure if they plan to run him side by side tomorrow. In my HUMBLE Opinion, I think he needs a few "TIRE SHAKE RUNS", or "DROPPING CYLINDER" Runs before he goes Next to another car. I'm hoping that JFR will do the "SAFE" thing and PULL his entry after qualifying and let another SEASONED Car into eliminations. Not saying that Zippy is not doing great..CAUSE I CHEERED LOUDER FOR HIS SUCESS THAN JACK'S 4.78 tonight. I just don't think he needs a few....(OH SH#T runs) to get some experience with the bad things that can, and usually happen to these cars in Eliminations. But, his runs tonight, WERE FLIPPIN PERFECT!

Okay Arthur...
you can come out of your room now and have some milk and sugar cookies....
problem is, Mike's Qualified, so even if they don't make another pass this weekend, someone will get a Bye Run in the first round....
unless he gets bumped out... which ain't likely.... or someone else makes a pass in the car, becoming the driver of record and that driver would have to requalify the car to race on Sunday...

Re: Hight confirmed; Ashley Force, Neff, Burkart wait for go ahead to race Vegas
Did anybody think it was convenient that Mike came up as the odd car and made a single run?
I don't know if it was dark then but it was probably getting there and it had to be his first pass under those conditions. Just curious if he really had the bye or it was arranged. Either way, probably a good call.
I would love to see all 4 JFR cars run but after everything these guys have been through this year I just can't see them taking any chances tomorrow or Sunday.

Re: Hight confirmed; Ashley Force, Neff, Burkart wait for go ahead to race Vegas
Don't listen to the naysayers John.
Just like any other pilot, Zippy has proven his driving abilities and earned his wings and has as much right to compete as any others in all other competition classes.
Go get 'em Mike, runner up to Robert on Sunday! (after Robert takes out Phil and Zippy takes out Ashley in the semis)
I can already envision that pit between rounds where the driver not only gives his crew chief real world feedback on the last pass but provides world championship tuning input as well. Not happening a lot in the other camps?

Let'm race. Welcome to the deep end of the pool. The water gets colder the deeper you go.
