Blue Max reunion at Dallas

From what NHRA Raceday showed, everybody was having a blast. Does anyone know if the public was welcome or was it a formal invitation deal? Thanks.

All I know was that Richard Tharpe (sp) had a lot to say. Something about missing the cats.

Did anyone get a shot of them all together?

That was my all time favorite Funny Car! We even named our first Old English Sheepdog after it. Rothglen's Oldfield Blue Max!

Re: Blue Max reunion at Dallas

Every year around the 2nd week of December there is a reunion or shall I say gathering in Dallas of past drag racers at a local restaraunt. If they raced in the 60's & 70's they are usually there, most are Division 4 guys. A real treat to rub elbows with some of the famous drag racers in Texas of the past era of drag racing.

Mine too, Jackee. Best logo ever put on the side of a race car.

Re: Blue Max reunion at Dallas

I have been seriously thinking the last couple months about getting the Blue Max logo for my first tatoo.
Bill I agree it was/is still the best logo ever on a car!
I have a lot of fond memories from age 10-15 when my dad worked for Beadle in Dallas and then when he moved shop to Charlotte. So the tatoo would be two things for me: cool looking and sentimental value
