Re: Did Force and KB Crash?
Just my .02c from viewing the video of the wreck on NHRA.COM and to put this to rest about Kenny B, he didn't cause this whatsoever. John had a catastrophic explosion right past the finishline and both cars were in there own lanes. It looked from the video that John may have had a tire let go, but the clutch explosion alsom may be likely since the chassis was cut apart right behind the engine. John is very lucky if he just has some broken legs and a broken arm and hopefully keeps all his parts. I will be praying for that as it's too soon to know anything long or short term yet. And for those who don't know, Ashley Force did not run in the semi's as she chose to go to the hospital to be with her family and forfeited her race with Tony P. I wouldn't have expected anything less.
We are all praying for you Papa John.

Along with the large amount of white "smoke" that appears in the picture about the time things start to go wrong. While it might just be the standard Force tuneup, it sure looks more extensive than normal.
As for those mentioning the tire, stop and think. If the left rear had deflated, the car would have gone to the right, not across the track.
Perhaps some damage to the spill plate on the wing? Is that what we're seeing on the left side quarter panel that might look like a tire letting go?

Re: Did Force and KB Crash?
The footage seems to show the blower belt coming off John's car before the body comes apart. Also something comes off the back of Kenny's car.

Re: Did Force and KB Crash?
Good interjection, Jenn! One thing we can probably all agree on right now - there will not be another pass by a JFR car until JFR has completley addressed the cause, and not until they're certian they've done everything possible to avoid it happening again. I commend John's un-wavered commitment to safety in the wake of the Medlin tragedy.

You folks are really jumping the gun here. Perhaps you should wait for the reality...
if it were so easy... YOU build a chassis that is impervious to stress, and YOU try to make the cars safer...and you hope that all runs are A-B clean.
John is the master of the trade. He surely could not have predicted this. Furthermore, he's an owner... not a member, sir.
Like I said... get well soon, John

Patti,
Sean wasn't having a stab at anyone, your post comes across a bit harsh.
I think a few people need to take their chill pills before posting on what was not a good day for racing.

I apologize, harsh wasn't my intention. I hear chassis failure and I think about the changes. I meant no harm, but I think I have a bit of reason in my posts.
It's TOO soon to judge anything right now.
