DNQ's and the Countdown

Wow! Dougzilla is propably done and Hight may have put himself in a very bad position. I certainly didn't think qualifying would weigh in so heavily in the Countdown. If ya don't get it right on Friday night, you're probably done.
Something needs to be done to give the teams a chance and provide fans a better show than they have been paying to see on Saturday - Jim

Re: DNQ's and the Countdown

I'm actually hoping the spoilers who are out of the countdown win everything from here on out to ruin all hopes of this genius countdown surviving yet another year. Wouldn't it be interesting if the remaining four in each class couldn't even qualify at Pomona?

Re: DNQ's and the Countdown

I don't really think this DNQ is going to have that much of an effect on Hight, as he should still be in good shape to avoid the second beheading. On the other hand just think how huge the Fuller/Schumacher round 1 race would have been? Tony would have been eight rounds back so if he lost the race to Hot Rod, he would really be facing an uphill battle. If he beat Hot Rod then the points battle would have tightened up legitimately.

Re: DNQ's and the Countdown

And I wonder how many positions Melanie would have moved up if she hadn't run into the Countdown Ceiling? Now the best she can finish is ninth - probably won't even get on the stage at the banquet (used to be top ten at least got recognized, now it will probably be the top eight).

Yep.

But hey we have to take it for what it is

James who crew cheifs on Dave Grubnics car at Reading, after they qualified said "well yeah we might have a shot now" But then pointed in the direction of the other Kalitta cars and said "But tell me what do they have to race for now" And I'm like well no one can try and improve on their finish from the previous season, and that sure does suck.

1) Motor specs in unlimited classes
2) Cost of a pack of Smokes/ bottle of Bourbon
3) The Unenlightened/clueless in pits and stands... and Alan having to tell people to Pay Attention every Sunday Morning...
4) Jacking around with weights, nitro %, spec tires, Pro Stock not running Motors that OEM offers in street cars and turning the class into Neutered Floppers...
5) Why hasn't Mr. Knoll, Mr. Lucas, and Mr. Smith said Screw It and Started Their Own Series...
6) ESPN2 treating Drag Racing like the B@$tard Child of Motor Sports...
7) To quote the Eagles... "Call some place paradise, kiss it good-bye"... ask a D'jinn a wish... and he'll give you just what you asked for...
