BROWNSBURG, Ind. (Aug. 30, 2008) - For the third-straight year Don Schumacher Racing opened its 100,000-sq.-ft. drag-racing facility doors in Brownsburg, Ind., to the public in an effort to raise money for Indianapolis-based Riley Hospital for Children. In six hours on Friday, Aug. 29,, an estimated 4,000 fans, drivers, VIPs and NHRA drag-racing participants passed through the shop in advance of this weekend's 54th annual U.S. Nationals.

DSR offered race fans an opportunity to meet its drivers (Tony Schumacher, Cory McClenathan, Gary Scelzi, Ron Capps, "Fast Jack" Beckman, Jerry Toliver, Chip Ellis, and Craig Treble), experience a special "cacklefest" of vintage nitro cars from the 1960s and '70s, and enjoy classic cars and motorcycles on display by the Indy Hi-Winders Car Club.

Proceeds from the Car and Bike Show, a raffle of an assortment of autographed and custom products from DSR partners, as well as voluntary donations and food and beverage revenue directly benefited Riley Hospital for Children. In total, the event raised $19,000 for the hospital, bringing the three-year total to $50,000.

President and CEO of DSR sponsor Mail Terminal Services, Rodger Comstock, kicked in $2,700 (of the $19,000 raised) by submitting the winning bid for a Ron Capps NAPA AUTO PARTS fire suit.

"It was another great day with the Riley Foundation folks," commented Mike Lewis, Sr. Vice-President of DSR. "The weather was fantastic, and we had a wonderful turnout. We're glad the DSR sponsors and employees continue to support this event and make it what it is: a win-win for the NHRA race fans and the local Brownsburg community."
