Martin Mi. Finals Postponed due to the "Perfect Storm"

The ADRL's 4th Annual Pizza Hut Summer Drags Juked & jived with the "Perfect Storm" all weekend and actually got in all the qualifications and eliminations, with the exception for the most important round- the finals. The storms even took out the start line tree; But never giving up, Kenny Nowling reached down in his Haber Sack bag of solutions and pulled out an oldie, but goody- the time honored, at least in the Drag Racing community, the "hand sign" signal to start a race! That method of starting a race caused a few problems with "deep staging", but all in all, things went well. It was reminiscence of Natalie Wood dropping the flag to start a drag race in the classical movie Rebel without a Cause.

Now, the good news, Team Rage, led by Jim and Dave Oddy are in the Finals once again on the heels of a Josh Hernandez's run of 4.002/ 192.35 mph against Travis Swearingen in one side of the semi-finals. His opponent will be Bob Mandell, who ran a 4.092/ 181.50 mph against Frankie Taylor on the opposite side of the semi-finals. As master crew chief and tuner, Jim Oddy commented, " Whew, seems like we took the long way to get in the finals, but we made it and no help from Mother Nature either; what a struggle, but at the same time, it was fun going back to "old School"!

This puts Team Rage in the cats bird seat once again as Josh Hernandez goes for 3 ADRL wins in a row, since he has lane choice when the Pizza Hut Summer Drag finals are made up prior to the 2nd Annual Shelor.com Spring Drags at Tulsa Ok on June 20th & 21th.
