Critchley ready to 'Drop the Clutch' in Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (May 31, 2007) - It's been more than a month since Australian Troy Critchley has driven in a Flowmaster ADRL racing event, and the Texas-resident is more than anxious to go rounds behind the wheel of his AMS Staff Leasing '93 Corvette Pro Modified this weekend at the AMS Staff Leasing Summer Drags in Huntsville, Alabama.

Unable to attend the last event because of scheduling conflicts, Critchley knows the pressure is on to make the show at his sponsor's race.

"It's really important for me to run well this weekend, especially because Dave and Gidget Wood and all the folks from AMS will be there," Critchley said.

Having struggled at the first few events of the season, Critchley and his crew chief, Howard Moon, are confident they have worked through the mechanical issues and have 'The Other Jack Hammer' ready to run.

"We've had plenty of time to work on the car and make sure everything is in order, and we even got to try a few new little toys as well, so, I'm ready to go," he said.

"I'm ready to get out there and drop the clutch in the 'Vette, that's for sure," Critchley said.

Following open testing throughout Friday, action in Pro Extreme gets under way Friday evening with a single qualifying session at 8 p.m. (local time). Two more qualifying sessions on Saturday will determine the 16-car fields for Saturday evening's eliminations.
