AMS Rage Report - SATURDAY

HERNANDEZ ON TOP IN ATLANTA

COMMERCE, Ga, – Josh Hernandez, driver of the Dr. Moon’s Rage ’68 Camaro Pro Mod, blasted into the No. 1 qualifying position in the AMS Staff Leasing Pro Modified Challenge presented by Tindle Enterprises, Inc. at the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway.

Setting a track ET record with his 5.974/241.28 pass, Hernandez said he feels confident heading into Sunday’s eliminations.

“What can you say about Howard Moon and this Rage team? They’ve really got a handle on this car, even in the heat of the day,” Hernandez said.

“It was a difficult track to figure out because it had a lot of traction, but you had to get horsepower to it carefully in order to keep the car in the groove – but Howard and the boys did it,” he said.

“It’s great that we get to run all of our eliminations on Sunday, because it keeps us focused and really on task, without breaking it up into two parts. It will hopefully be a long day, but with the prize at the end, we know it will be worth it,” Hernandez said.

Critchley a solid No. 5 Heading into Eliminations in Atlanta

COMMERCE Ga. (April 28, 2007) – Australian Troy Critchley took his AMS Staff Leasing Jackhammer ’70 Barracuda Pro Mod to the No.5 qualifying position in the AMS Staff Leasing Pro Mod Challenge Presented by Tindle Enterprises, Inc. at the Summit Racing Equipment NRHA Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway.

“It was a great day at the races,” Critchley said. “We came into today qualified number seven and we moved up to number five, we didn’t really break anything other than a spark plug, and we’re solidly in the show for Sunday.

“With Howard [Moon, crew chief] and the boys working so hard, things are really coming into place, and I’m really confident about tomorrow,” he said.

Critchley ran a 6.03/240.08 to claim the No. 5 spot, and is paired with Bryan Seward in the first round of eliminations.
