Koretsky Drivers Millican, Northrop Join Boss in Rain-delayed Torco Racing Fuels Nationals at Virginia Motorsports Park

Halted by rain a week ago, Kenny Koretsky and Greg Hill will unveil their combined Nitro Fish/Indicom Electric Pro Stock Chevrolet Cobalt team when the rain-delayed the NHRA Torco Racing Fuels Nationals returns Friday at Virginia Motorsports Park following a one-week rain delay.

Koretsky is resuming his Pro Stock driving career after completely recovering from a serious racing accident with Bruce Allen last October at the Texas Motorplex. Koretsky began his Pro Stock career in a Chevrolet.

“I am really looking forward to this weekend,” said Koretsky, “and getting back on to racing. I’m feeling great. I’ll think Greg Hill and I are going to have a good time. I hope the conditions are good.”

MEANWHILE, Dave Northrop, who is driving Koretsky’s red Nitro Fish/ISC Racers Tape Dodge Stratus for the final three 2006 races, believes crew chief Eddie Guarnaccia has a good engine/chassis combination in the car. Northrop has been qualifying for races lately, but has held steady in 15th and 16th positions.

“We want move up the qualifying ladder to see if we can get away from the top two or three qualifiers we’ve run up against in the first round recently,” said Northrop, of Perkasie, Pa.

TOP FUEL driver Clay Millican and the Werner Enterprises/Koretsky Motorsports team return holding a four-race win streak at Virginia Motorsports Park. Millican, of Drummonds, Tenn., won the last four IHRA Top Fuel titles when that sanctioning body raced at the Dinwiddie facility. Millican clinched his unprecedented sixth IHRA championship two weeks ago. He has 49 career wins.

Torco Racing Fuels Nationals qualifying is on tap at 3 and 6 p.m. on Friday and noon and 3 p.m. on Saturday. Sunday’s eliminations begin at 11 a.m.

KPK Motorsports appreciates all its sponsors. We couldn't do this without them. Our thanks to
Werner Enterprises, Nitro Fish, OCC, Motel 6, Goodyear, Royal Purple, Champion, Speed Pro, Fel Pro, FRAM, Prestone, Autolite, ISC Racers Tape, Cyclo, Boninfante Clutches, American Racing Wheels, Jerry Bickel Race Cars and VHT.
