TROY CRITCHLEY PLANNING TO BRING HIS TOP SPEED SEMINAR TO TEXAS MOTORPLEX

DALLAS, Texas - Earlier in this month Troy Critchley proved to the capacity crowd assembled at O'Reilly Motorsports Park in Indianapolis that he had to potential to run fast - really fast for a Pro Modified entry. Critchley, an Australian native who drives the AMS Staff Leasing-sponsored 1971 Barracuda, recorded an incredible 239 mile per hour speed during the first round of the event only to have his day end a round later due to a parts malfunction.

Critchley intends to run fast and put on a show during his team owner's hometown race at the Texas Motorplex. Dave Wood, the driving force behind AMS Staff Leasing and the Pro Modified division on the NHRA tour, is who Critchley wants to win for this weekend.

"No one deserves success more than Dave Wood," Critchley said. "Our team would love nothing more than to win for him. He is a super guy and has been responsible for most of the great things we've seen for this class in the NHRA."

Last weekend, Critchley competed in an American Drag Racing league event in Rockingham, NC., and while the event was run on an eighth-mile format, it worked as a positive factor for Critchley's preparation for Dallas.

"We were able to work on our short time and makes such huge gains," Critchley said. "To get the great elapsed times and speeds on the quarter-mile, you have to be strong on the first half of the track. We learned a lot racing last weekend."

Winning is not out of the question for Critchley based on his performance combination. As he coined the phrase, "Horsepower by Critchley, tune by Moon," he has benefited from the performance gains garnered by his engines and the tuning talents of Howard Moon.

"We just work great as a team," Critchley said. "I hope we can showcase those talents this weekend with a victory."
