Attitude Apparel Begins Shirt Drive for GM/USO Post-Season Visit with U.S. Troops

COMMERCE, Ga., April 28, 2008 - Attitude Apparel has teamed up with a group of NHRA series sponsors and competitors from the Pro Stock division for a racing-shirt giveaway in conjunction with the annual GM/USO-supported drivers' visit with American troops in Germany. The goal is to send a maximum number of shirts inscribed with the phrase "1320th Asphalt Assault Division" to the troops in Germany for the annual racers' visit, which this year, is tentatively scheduled for the week of Thanksgiving.

The well-constructed, camouflaged-style pre-shrunk tee-shirt is made with 100-percent cotton. It is emblazoned on the front with an American flag and the bold statement, "Live to Race, Race to Win." The back of the shirt is inscribed in red, white and blue lettering with the phrase, "Home Of the 1320th Asphalt Assault Division," and the racing logos of the NHRA POWERade Series, Pontiac, Chevrolet and Attitude Apparel. Vertically centered below the shoulder line are the names of the 13 participating Pro Stock competitors including Kenny Koretsky, Jason Line, Ron Krisher, Mike Edwards, Greg Stanfield, Greg Anderson, Warren Johnson, Justin Humphreys, Tom Hammonds, Dave Connolly, Kurt Johnson, Jeg Coughlin and Jim Yates.

For each shirt sold (which can be purchased at the Attitude Apparel souvenir vendor trailer on the Manufacturer's Midway) at an NHRA national event, or at their website at Attitude Apparel, Attitude Apparel will do a one-for-one donation for the post-season drivers' visit.

"There's no limit to the number of shirts we'll donate," explained Alan Freese, founder of Attitude Apparel. "If we can sell 10,000 shirts between now and the end of the year, then they're going to need an awfully big suitcase to take with them in November."

For the last three years, a group of drivers from the NHRA have made the short hop across the Atlantic to visit with the troops at the Kaiserslautern Military Community. Each year that visit has included a stop at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, the largest American hospital outside the continental United States. During the post-season trip the drivers have distributed thousands of gift bags to the troops and their families that have included racing items and souvenirs supplied by numerous sponsors and supporters of the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series.

"We wanted to do something to benefit our uniformed men and women who are overseas and don't have the opportunity to come to a race," Freese explained. "Unfortunately, we can't take the races to them, but I know that GM and the USO take a group of drivers over to Germany every year and this is our way of pitching in.

"We're trying to help by making these shirts available, creating a little bit awareness for the fans who come to the races and to let the troops know that even though they can't be here, that we appreciate the freedoms we're able to have because of what they do for all of us."
