DAVE’S RV Outlaw Pro Mod Challenge

Pro Mod racing fans mark your 2008 calendars now! You won't want to miss the inaugural DAVE’S RV Outlaw Pro Mod Challenge on May 31st, presented by the Outlaw Racers Association.

The Outlaw Racers Association is a new group that was founded by a local Midwest region pro mod crew chief. "I wanted to put on a race for Outlaw Pro Mod racers. A race where Pro Mods are no longer treated like dirty step children, but as the highly competitive and serious racers they are. In addition, it was founded to put on a show that puts Pro Mod competition in the spot light, where it belongs. To put on a race that is both entertaining for fans and extremely competitive for participants."

The rules for the race are simple. 1) You must have two doors and 2) you must pass track safety tech. While remaining with the 1/8th mile format, the purse and payout structure is also extremely attractive and should bring a high volume of competitors to the area. Unofficially, the winner will walk away with a hefty $5,000, with $2,000 going to the runner up. In addition, the revamped payout structure gives $1,000 to semi finalists, $250 for quarter finalists, and $100 to the eighths. There will be a one-time $100 membership fee into the Association and no entry fees to participate in any race.

Tulsa Raceway Park is fast becoming a popular place for Pro Mod racers to set career best ET's. The facility is one of the nicest in the country and is highly touted by local shootout racers as being the place they can get their car down the track at enormous ET and speeds, while fans enjoy stellar facilities and the best seats in the house.

A large amount of local racers from the tri-state area of Missouri, Texas, and Oklahoma, are already committed to attend the event. Will a local team take home the cash or will a big national event level team come in and take home the guaranteed purse? Time will tell, but with a large car count expected to squeeze into just 16 slots, rest assured it will be the most exciting event of the year that will be discussed around the water coolers for months.
