Koretsky's .016-second Reaction Time Best of Opening Round

LAS VEGAS, October 28, 2007 -- Kenny Koretsky did all he could to upset Dave Connolly, the hottest Pro Stock driver on the POWERade Series tour, in Sunday's first round of the ACDelco Nationals at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

He left the starting line with a .016-second reaction and kept Greg Hill's Indicom Electric/Nitro Fish Chevy Cobalt in contention for the win for most of the quarter-mile, only to have Connolly come by him to take the win, 6.724 seconds at 205.32 mph to 6.801 at 202.21. Koretsky's reaction time was quickest of the round. It was Connolly's 21st consecutive round win.

"I believe that was the 12th time this season that I've had a .023-second or less reaction time," said Koretsky. "And that is pretty good. Eddie (Guarnaccia, team crew chief) and the crew did a good job getting the car ready. We consider it another successful weekend any time we qualify."

"Kenny did a good job driving and we thought we had a good (race car) package for him," Guarnaccia said.

The team winds up the season at the Auto Club National, Nov. 1-4, at Pomona, Calif.
